@JPV your senior member is upside down
Yeah, I felt it was an apt metaphor for how I feel sometimes.
@JPV - I noticed I no longer get nausea from a dose of 1000mcg molybdenum since I've been taking CB. Possibly helping 'detox' extra acetaldehyde?
Yeah, I keep reading anecdotes, from many others forum members, that after taking CB they can take certain supplements that they had problems with before.

I wish we understood more about this stuff. It's looking more and more like Ian Lipkin is probably on the right track investigating the Microbiome as a factor in ME/CFS. In fact, I think it is probably a big component of most chronic illnesses.

I'm supposed to take the Miyarisan with resistant starch because the starch feeds the Miyarisan, is that correct?
I know that @adreno said that he's getting most of his RS from his diet. I was initially taking some Potato Starch along with the Miyarisan but have since stopped doing so. Mostly because I ran out out of it and I think it might have been too much RS for me in conjunction with the Miyarisan. I know a lot of others on the forum seem to feel that the effects of Miyarisan is strong enough without needing any supplemental RS.

Miyarisan comes with a small amount of (some form of) Corn Starch in the tablets. I assume this was added as a substrate for the CB.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm going to try and read more about this because i really want to focus on the gut issues.

How important is it to get the four different types of resistant starch into you? Or as long as your getting one is that good enough?

I'm going to start CB today, at 1/4 tablet. How are you dividing it? I'm hoping the answer is crushing + water.

I'm very interested in the discussion about RS. I've kept up with that thread, but a lot of it got too technical for me. I think I've read 2 opinions on these threads: that there's no effect until you're taking about 30g RS, and that even small amounts of RS + CB can cause major reactions.

This would be good news for me, as I can't take potato starch, and I eat pretty low-carb, so cooked and cooled starches can't get me to the 30g range.

Can any of you help me sort this out?

Or maybe find a way to bind the LPS that the CB is creating so that it doesn't create havoc in the gut or get into the bloodstream and create havoc in other areas of the body. Has anyone tried bentonite clay or charcoal?

I don't think that the CB is toxic at this small dosage. My guess is there is already endotoxemia from overgrowth of other microbes, including commensals.

I'm not saying the CB is toxic, but that it creates endotoxins by lysing pathogens. The endotoxins are what causes the problems.

I'm being treated for sibo (ibs-c) with neomycin, treatment will last for 2 more weeks. Today I received my
CB and look forward to starting it. Any suggestions or observations? I'm an impatient person.
Should I be concerned about waiting to complete the antibiotic?

Not looking for medical advice, just thoughts on the combination.

Fine, thank you

No, on the contrary, taking it with the antibiotic MAY help you avoid microbiome damage from the antibiotic.

I've read that if you're taking abx you need to take any probiotics halfway between doses. Can't remember where I read that.

Ok, so I've been using it for about 2 months now and the last 3 days I've been feeling pretty good. I rarely, if ever, have 3 days in a row where I feel this good. Did the two of you experience much relief early on or did it increase slowly over a period of months?
Ok, yesterday was a crappy day but today was another real good day. Like @adreno, this is probably one of the most successful interventions that I've tried so far. I had a couple of good days over the last couple of months but never so many clustered this close together. Keeping my fingers crossed.

@adreno, did it take you a few of months before any noticeable results were apparent? Seems to be the case with me.

I have answered that question several times. I got improvements pretty fast, within the first week, as far as I remember.
Sorry, either forgetting (brain fog) or haven't followed the thread(s) as closely as I should.

Anyway, I suppose it's expected that we should all respond somewhat differently to this treatment.

@JPV, what's your current dose?
2 tablets, once per day. I tried several different dosages, between 1 - 18 per day, before settling on just 2. This last week I've been taking them in the evenings, sometimes just before going to bed.

After a month I was having some issues with sleep disturbances so I lowered it down to 1 tablet per day for a week or so. @Asklipia had mentioned that her and her husband also had sleep issues (increased Acetylcholine?) but it seemed to subside after a couple of months. I decided to power through it and went back to 2 tablets per day.

I'm not taking any RS other than a little from food (cooked/cooled potatoes and rice) every now and then.
