I'm unfortunately on the maximum dose of multiple antihistamines and mast cell stabilizers. So it's not like I can increase them for a shot.There are several. My ME/CFS specialist highly recommended taking antihistamines, too. I took Pepcid and Benadryl just before and then at intervals for the next 3 days.
But I do agree that's a good recommendation for most people although I'd also add that stuff like rupatadine, which reduces multiple cytokines from mast cells in addition to being antihistamine, would be better choice than a simple antihistamine , bc the inflammation isnt all about histamine, often its multiple inflammatory markers. But I agree in general.
I think mcas people should be considering nasal cromolyn, high dose vitamin c, and rupatadine and ketotifen
