I was already taking manganese before trying B2 as i have a namganese deficiency show up on the mitochondrial profile test - i also have a partial gene blockage on my Mn SODase gene - so managnese should help (dont know if it has - have been supplementing it for a year) I also dont have the high iron stores that christine discusses, but severely low ones. Supplementing managnese can be enough for some people to increase iron stores if they have low iron as i do. (althouhg in my case it has made no difference my ferritin is still very low)

All the best, Justy

My kit arrived and I will probably get it posted tomorrow. I guess Christine just needs a break so the only thing I can think of doing is just to back off on the B2 as I have been having diabetes symptoms (pre diabetic previously) until I am back in touch with Christine.

Justy as far as I understand, Manganese does not increase iron stores, it enables the iron to be released. If you have a low store then it will not build up with Manganese.

Its important to get to know your own body. I use a P5P (b6) with B2 as a cofactor and this seems like enough for me. Also i have zinc complex, with a few minerals in it which i find works very well at killing the nasea that b6 can give me. Hope things click into place for you, birdie.

I was feeling like hell all last night (many reasons: pollen, viral activation, NO sleep). I took 8 mg of B1 and about 250 mcg of B12 at 3 am, and at 8 am I took 7 mg. of B2. Over the next few hours it made me feel worse...again. Agitated, with lots of pressure in frontal brain. Then I took B6 just an hour ago (which I had stopped completely the last 2 weeks), and after that I feel a bit better. My nerves drank it in like it was elixer of nerve juice.

The B2 protocol is WAY TOO CONFUSING for me to experiment with and figure out right now. Every time I take the B2 I end up feeling worse. I can;t afford that. I am going back to doing what I did before, and if I ever feel stable again I will attempt the B2. Maybe by then, you all will have mastered how much, how long and with what to take it. I will be watching.

Hi Gavman--

Thanks for your concern. I do feel better now that I have stopped all B2. My viral symptoms are better and it's been raining again (YAY!) which has helped me clear my pollen symptoms... and enabled me to finally get sleep.

I can handle the B1 (8 mg) without any problems, as well as the 250-500 mcg of MB12. And I also can take the B6 and have never had an issue with that. Why the B2 is so hellish to deal with is still a mystery to me. Unbelievable how just 7 mg of it can send me into a detox tailspin. Go figure! I need to be MUCH stronger before I mess with it again.

Ooops just noticed that nuts are high in zinc:eek:

I just cut my hair sample and have the forms ready to post, but I seem to recall that I saw somewhere that Christine wanted a list of what we eat, have we gained weight since having cfs etc but I can only find a consent form and a symptoms form. Does it sound right?

Hi Brenda, I was wondering the same thing. I wonder if she wants out other info after the test is done? I am not sure?

Keep in mind that your gut will not absorb the full mineral contents of all foods. Phytic acid especially binds to minerals and hinders their absorption.

There is a Client Information Form 2 that asks for dietary information, personality description pre-CFS, and when major symptoms occurred. Did you not receive?

I received my kit several day ago. I hope to get it sent in next week.

I do not think that Christine is communicating with anyone until they get the paper done.

My life has become a little less hectic and I thought I might start the B2 (and B1 and manganese) tonight. I couldnt find the empty capsules to put my split pills in, so it will not be until tomorrow.

I took my first dose of B2 (and B1 and manganese) earlier tonight. I am already seeing some color in my urine. I will be taking the second dose before I go to bed shortly.

After my second 12.5 mg dose of B2 yesterday, my urine was quite yellow. I was thinking that if that much of 12.5 mg of B2 was not being used, I did not see the point of increasing it to 25 mg down the road. Today there was less yellow after taking the B2, so my body must be starting to use more of it. I do not feel any different yet.

Does anyone have any ideas why B2 might cause insomnia? It seems to give me a noticable energy boost, but causes sleep problems. I reckon it's the B I've always had issues with in multi's.

Hi Brenda. It's probably ~10mg with breakfast. I will try a much lower dose soon. Yep also doing manganese at the same time, about 2.5mg.

What brand are you using? Have you checked the fillers?

What we are finding is that many of us need to start on a lower dose divided through the day. I have reduced mine right down.
