Because I made reference to the Japanese GcMAF, Sushi PMed me with an important reminder that I will share with any of you that might be looking at their product. One of their descriptions of “second generation GcMAF” is that their unique production process creates a medication that has 10 to 20 times (1500-2500ng per dose) the active GcMAF compared to the other GcMAF products on the market. While this may sound look a good thing, it could create potential problems for specific patients.
1- You do not know exactly how much active GcMAF will be in a dose, but it will be a lot. 1500 to 2500ng is a wide range.
2- There is a significantly large subset of patients that are not able to tolerate even a small dose of GcMAF, much less the 100ng per week that has been traditionally defined as the standard dose for other illnesses. This group of patients suffer from severe inflammation with larger doses and some can only tolerate 10 to 20ng per week. Some even less.
I believe that I am one of the fortunate ones that can tolerate the full (100ng) dose of GcMAF. I definitely experience some inflammation, but it is tolerable. For those of us that can tolerate the higher doses, the Japanese GcMAF may be a product to look at. Also, when I contacted the company, they indicated that they would split their dose vial into two dose vials each containing 750 to 1250ng. This is still very high. It also makes it more affordable, as you could have a 16 week course of medication for about the same price as the 8 week course from gcmaf.eu.
I am still not prepared to order from the Japanese company due in part to what I mentioned in my previous post. I also have not been able to find any other patients (HIV, cancer, other), much less ME patients that have used their product. I’m not sure I am ready to be the first PR member to do so. Maybe these posts will bring others forward. I believe there was one other member that indicated he/she was going to order from Saisei Mirai, but they have not checked back in.
