Keto is a risk, some do good, some dont. Depending on what pathways are impaired in regards of energy production, cutting of carbs might mean, cutting of the last efficient pathway for energy production.
But if carbs wasnt running efficient and actually is blocking metabolism this might be a safer.
But depending on individual situation can be doom or rescue.
People with impaired carb metabolism notice this mostly that soon after eating a carb rich meal, like 30-60 min later, the body really is working, maybe a sleepiness or fatigue is setting in which lasts for like 1-2 hours.
Those folks might get improvements from high(er) dose benfothiamine or thiamine in general.
But some might notice worsening of meals with fat rich foods. and sometimes it depends on the type of fat.
I did 1 year before my crash change to a "healthy" diet, lower carbs, good amounts of proteins and 60+% fat.
after my crash i realized, i do good on carbs, and improve on carbs, but on fat dominant low insulin foods, i crash. this isnt keto, but i do not want to imagine what would have happend.
so before doing any rash change to a radical diet, i would suggest caution and a slow approach to testing out first how the body responds.
