Unfolded Protein Response and A Possible Treatment for CFS

Last blood test was done 4 weeks ago and CK, GOT, and LDH were in range.
However, I have light anemia and leukopenie over the last 5 years and I even dont know if I had it all of my life.

before the elevated blood values I took 10mg adenosylcobolamin s.c. (have Methylmalon acid in urine in the upper range since years) and introduced 250mg TUDCA before bed, Resveratrol up to 750mg/day.

I was in the gym for half a hour (but trained hard and took Methylphenidate this day, otherwise depression and anxiety is unbearable and I take Methylphenidate since 2,5 years now) in the evening before the blood test day. My energy is not bad at all in the moment (ironicely small dose Pregabalin gives me power) but my depression, anxiety and anhedonia is hard to conquer. So the blood count was done in hospital where I normally get maintenance ECT. However, as the values were to bad they have not done it and I skipped any supplement the last 3 days and checked every day my blood panel:

Day1 Day2 Day3 Range
GOT (AST) 399 313 222 10 - 35 U/l
LDH 948 498 267 136 - 248 U/l
CK Total 18956 12426 6532 20 - 170 U/I
Leucocytes 4.6 (aftern.) 2.6 3.3 4.4 - 11-3 T/ul
Hemoglobin 13.7 13.5 13.7 14 - 17.5 g/dl

I got 2 L NaCL with electrolytes before day 2 and 1L NaCL before Day3 (in the evening before the blood count)

The problem is: I don't know the reason for this abnormal values and they told me that this blood count is dangerous because of the possibility of renal failure and im concerned about taking resveratrol or TUDCA right now.

The Brawn Nutrition TUDCA box claimed that it should not taken with stimulants.

@Naibaf

I searched and found that there are cases of Hepatotoxicity with Methylphenidate. This is particularly true if you are taking b-adrenergic agonists (this requires Research from you).

I haven't found any References where TUDCA creates such Problems with the Liver or Kidneys. However i've read that TUDCA should never be taken with Alcohol (also documented on the first post of this Thread).

In other words i do not know what interactions could TUDCA have along with Ritalin. The best thing is to stop everything and re-evaluate under a Doctor's Supervision.

I never took Ritalin or any similar stimulant to be honest, i am alcohol-free more than 2 months and i've been using TUDCA for more than 6 months.

Dear All,

I think it would be really helpful if you could share your DNA results for the "Detox" profiling from GeneticGenie.

Here is mine :

I realize you're not talking about statins, but I think finasteride for some reason is accomplishing the same thing as statins, and fluoroquinolone, and Mf59, the adjuvant in vaccines that cause Gulf War Syndrome.

A list of symptoms caused by CoQ10 deficiency caused by messed up mevalonate pathway. Look familiar?

Ive always found ubiquinol/Coq10 to be a very helpful supplement for me. It takes awhile to start working but its noticeable. I also spent a long time on cipro a few years back. stuff pushed me over the edge big time as far as cfs symptoms are concerned. My digestion/stomach has never recovered. Thought Id mention that since you mentioned fluoroquinolones.

I should try CoQ10, I had bought some but didn't take it because I read something which made me change my mind. That happens a lot.

That's too bad about the cipro! It's interesting that it contains hydrochoride and it bothered your stomach. I don't yet know why the fluoroquinolones are being grouped with the other two things, maybe someone else will know that. I see that cipro can cause tendinitis or ruptured tendons. Did it cause you any problems in that area?

Yeah it caused me a lot of problems. I was on it for a couple months for suspected prostatitis. I definitely felt joint pain when I was taking it and some achilles pain. Like I said I think up until that point my cfs type symptoms were at least manageable, everything seemed to get way worse after that for me. If you google it you can find a ton of horror stories about people taking cipro and other fluoroquiniolone antibiotics and being severely damaged by them. In fact I think they come with a black box warning now, doctors used to pass them out like candy, and maybe still do. My Dad took some and after 3 days ended up in the hospital with a bizarre rash and other crazy stuff. I would highly advise against anyone taking them unless it was a life/death infection or something, its pretty much a poison.

Oh boy, that's terrible! I wonder if there is a way to undo the damage! I don't know how cipro causes damage, maybe somebody else does. Terrible that the medicines are causing so much damage!

Thank you @ScottTriGuy

So far 2 same SNPs at CYP1B1 and CYP2D6. Can you tell us what kind of Symptoms you have and how you got CFS?

Could you also look at CYP7B1?

Could anyone else post the same info from Genetic Genie?

@Violeta

Let's see more results and take it from there. Can you post your detox profile?

I haven't had genetic testing done, sorry, no data.

For you, though, with finasteride issues, CYP 2D6 makes sense.

"This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids"

???? I don't know.
