Regarding funding -- what do you do with charitable donations Cort -- it certainly doesn't cost 1000 dollars to run a website. Do you donate to research, do you help out individuals with CFS -- could you please post what you actually do with charitable donations. As a non profit you should post somewhere where the money goes. Thanks so much.

Really pleased we've done so well - subject to audit we're in 7th place, about 120 votes above the 9th-place people (we need to be at 8th or above to get the bigger $$$).

Thanks to everyone! It's been fun. This competition had it all - turnip video, jokes, coonhounds, jokes about coonhounds, suspense, drama, and one aphorism with small buttons.

Now that was exciting! It reminded me of the Chase Community Giving project when we pulled it out at the last minute for PANDORA last year.

We did indeed 'rise from the ashes' at the last minute. Two days before the contest ended IGIVE docked us about 40% of our votes - pushing us to 9th place and out of the $250 slot. We fought back and Phoenix Rising rose to 7th place (subject to audit) with about a hundred vote cushion. If we stay at 8 or above we win $300. (And we started halfway through it :))

Thank you all for the your great efforts! In particular thanks to our creative contest entrepeneur - looking all over the web for ways for ME/CFS non-profits to raise money - Frank - for conceiving of the contest and to Helen41 - our turnip video specialist - for creating the best and most unique IGIVE video.

Thanks in particular for helping out - Sasha, Merry, Dolphin, Tuha, MaryB, InTuneJune, ggingues, shannah, Tony, urbanTravels, nielk and those I missed. Your support on the Forums was critical...

Thank you all. Helen that was so generous of you to make that video, it was awesome.

With the one at facebook I wonder if my vote goes through, I had trouble with it a few months ago when we were voting there. It helps so much to have the reminder here everyday

The amount on the iGive toolbar, I just noticed, has jumped $300, so I guess that means that the contest money has indeed been awarded.

But the amount is pending, as are all funds raised through iGive, for another 75 days?

I just received an email that we have been verified as the winner of the $50 early bird prize and the $250 IGive voting prize. I just need to burn and send them a DVD, I guess to prove it is original. (like it isn't obvious it was done by a rank amateur!).:rolleyes:
This win is such a great group effort. Cort, Frank, Sasha, Glenp, Frenchtulip, Tuhla, Dolphin, Merry, InTuneJune, Wayne, maryb, Shannah, surfer, GG. My fingers are tired now and I probably missed some crucial people, but what a team! It's been fun, but now we just have to keep it up for one more day, bring home a great winning in the other contest, then we can return to normal and stop nagging for votes. ;)
