Perrin/lymph drainage/massage: makes sense or not?

I've just started this this week, I didn't bother in the past as I expected it would have little effect. I am still dubious at any rate.

But personally I cannot see the point in doing this treatment when you could take half a teaspoon of red root tincture 3-6 times a day without no side effects, combined with milk thistle and dandelion tincture in the same dose and your basically speeding up your lymphatics to the exact same degree if not more than perrin would be able to manage as your drip feeding your system 3-6 times a day.

I did this last autumn and winter and it was highly effective, but this year due to the cost I have had to mix things up a bit. Even so red root even though it's the most expensive tincture I buy, actually doesn't cost that much if you buy 500ml and take it over 6 to 8 months it will last the whole period.

As I do think the lymphatics are incredibly sluggish in ME patients, the above tonic 3-6 times a day seems just as good. Obivously to begin with I felt worse for a few weeks to a month, but after that I felt fantastic and it lasted all autumn and winter. Pain in the ares taking something 3 to 6 times a day I can tell you, but if it costs you £20 a month and Perrin costs £190 a month, the saving is huge.

June,

The inflammation can come from virus or retrovirus attacks ( just been watching Predators - the new one) or from muscle movement when they don't work properly.
Also see autopsies re inflammation of the basal root ganglia ( think thats what its called) and spinal colum etc etc. , but you can have inflamation bodywide from a variety of sources. Ice can help .

Tom
How are u now Tom?

I’m planning to go to a perrin specialist but some say it doesn’t have to be a special osteo. Is that right? Which one do I need to see then? I have the perrin book. Can my family member massage me as I’m severe? Is it best to see an osteo first and then do the book? I just wanna have the best chance at it. Thanks

I think Perrin is worth giving a try. Any perrin practioner will do June. As long as they follow perrin technique. I've been doing it now for about 2 months. But in my case I don't think it's had ant effect and if it had it's been very marginal. I've got myself to a good place however by taking my own herbal lymphatic detoxifier which I took last year and seems to work very well. It does also stimulate the immune response so it's hard to tell if it's attacking a virus, supporting a weakened immune system or speeding up a slow lymph. I had the flu jab 2 weeks ago and I had a fairly bad reaction to that which cleared up in a week and a half on the tonic.

Good luck.

Here you go: :)

so: any opinion on ....

1) LYMPH BLOCKAGES...( I think I may have actual blockages)

2) inflamed nodes. (I have numerous ones, they do go up and down)

Have you seen improvement in that area from self treatments?

3) I actually have a muscle, extending from below my shoulder over to my neck: which seems to be blocking lymph flow...electrodes released it (3 months ago). Boy did that event result in a major SLOG and PEM and marine layer fog.

My practitioner said two sessions are enough and then she’ll give me exercises to do at home. I’m quite severe so do u think I can just ask my family to do massages n help with exercises without seeing her? Are two sessions enough?? Did u feel major pem after them as I’m traveling from another town so not sure if I need to stay overnight after the session. Or stay for even a few nights? Thanks

Do you have access to a bathtub? You could try hot water soaks and epsom and clay...soaking..a slower form of lymph stimulation.

If I use this large muscle vibrator I obtained in a thrift store (lucky I was standing there at the time)..and massage just my feet, or just my calves- I typically get PEM quickly thereafter. So just a very small amount of: vibrator, or massaging a localized area...might be more gradual.

Here's a separate 18-min. video on full body lymphatic massage and drainage:

I'm observing an interesting body reaction I thought I should share. I just started taking some mild Chinese traditional herbs for the lymph...mixed into my other Yin Deficiency herbs. I get these individually prescribed from an expert herbalist.

So I've taken those herbs (as tea) for two days. Today, a large swollen lymph gland in my neck has dropped down substantially....its hardly there. It was very sore and the surrounding lymph is heavy and not flowing.

The heaviness is gone.

I'm now having an IBS reaction...and some PEM may be arriving....my intestines have been quite good and calm. So- I think the lymph draining spoke directly to the system, and our inflammatory reaction, etc.

I"m excited if I can get my system flushed better. Going to soak now.

@Rufous McKinney I've been taking those herbs for 2 years. They are fantastic. You might want to just buy red root tincture 500ml from bristol botanicals, along with the dandelion and milk thistle and mix it yourself, 1ml 3x a day. Be warned though I've had insomnia and over stimulation after about 3 or 4 weeks taking these. I now put this down to an accelerated immune response so I just take it when I am struggling (like I am this week).

But my glands under my arms were raised regularly until I started this, since I started I've only had one instance in 2 years. This is my second winter taking it and even though I still get ill and have fatigue whenever I get a cold, the colds are gotten rid of very quickly.

I am also doing perrin, I am not convinced the perrin is actually doing much because I already take the lymphatic herb cleansers above, so I think it helps a fair bit, but it's definitely not a cure for me.

Also I follow an exclusion diet and it's the only thing that helps with my brain fog and disorientation. I don't eat any dairy, or gluten and keep the sugary processed foods to an absolute minimum.

So I said I'd come back when I had been doing Perrin for awhile. I stopped about 4 weeks ago. My osteopath did say I would feel worse when i stopped but to be honest I haven't, I've only had one proper crash and once I supplemented with omega 3 bizarrely the crash dissipated over several hours. That and ubiquinol has had a huge effect on my muscle energy output, extertional tolerance, stamina and energy.

Even so I cannot be sure if the perrin helped at all, I felt as if all we did each week was push lymphatic fluid to the bodies recycling centers. Whereas the theory I say would be to reduce brain swelling and inflammation. Also I found out that most people who to go perrin are in the minority of ME patients, they must be in the top 30% energy wise because there are no home visits and nobody who's bed or house bound goes to the clinic. Therefore that's a tiny number of ME patients who actually attend perrin clinics. I'm not knocking it for those it does help, however Perrin includes supplementation and dietary changes, there is absolutely nothing to say that those changes away from the perrin are more important than the perrin itself.

Saying all this since I started ubiquinol supplementation I've been feeling great. So there is a small possibility that perrin helped, but I personally doubt it.

I went on the chinese traditional herb mix for lymph cleansing...adjusted for my needs....

And after about two weeks, my swollen lymph nodes went down alot and some neck issues seem to have improved...better drainage or something.

Then I stopped cause I got the stomach flu and have not resumed.

They work well @Rufous McKinney - for lymph system you only really need red root tincture quarter teaspoon 3x a day.

Sorry to hear about the stomach flu, Pukka branded andrographis paniculata would be brilliant for that. It will kill any nasty bacteria in your gut super fast. I haven't had any stomach upset from a virus or otherwise in the full 3 years I've taken it.
