Do we know if anyone will be live tweeting it? With overviews of the presentations? I don't know if the conference is open to the public or CFS advocates/patients.
Upto 40 % of ME/CFS patients showed positive signal for HHV-6A sncRNA-U14 in comparison to 0% in healthy controls.
Only a tiny fraction of blood cells were positive for HHV-6
In the slide the blue blob (mystery molecule is DAPI )
Edited - DAPI (pronounced 'DAPPY'), or 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole, is a fluorescent stain that binds strongly to adenine–thymine rich regions in DNA. It is used extensively in fluorescence microscopy.
I think the mystery molecules are sncRNA U14, Human U6 snRNA and the last one on the screen says Scrambled RNA(Dont know what he means by that- Is it varying from person to person)
Is that the cause? A local infection in the brain and „immune cells within perivascular spaces“ that send out a signal, as a response to the infection, that causes a cellshutdown
Perivascular spaces, also known as Virchow-Robin spaces, are pial-lined interstitial fluid-filled spaces in the brain that surround perforating vessels. They do not have a direct connection with the subarachnoid space and in fact, the fluid within them has a slightly different composition as compared to CSF.
