Wanted to post these two sources for antiviral COVID treatment for anyone who may be in search of them. These are online places to buy Bromhexine and Naclosamide. Bromhexine is a potent TMPRSS2 protease inhibitor - which is one mechanism for COVID to enter cells. Naclosamide blocks the second method COVID enters cells - via endosoma mediated viral entry. Naclosamide is similar to how hydroxychloroquine works, but is more effective. Both are safe medications. Bromhexine is over the counter in most parts of the world. Naclosamide has long been used as an anti-parasitic.

A RCT by Ansarin et al., showed efficacy for bromhexine & hydroxycholoroquine, which reduced mortality by 100% in moderate hospital cases.

Buy Bromhexine:
https://www.aptekastore.com/en/bromgeksin-4-60-ml.html

Buy Niclosamide:
https://www.niclosam.com/

Disclaimer: I am not encouraging any type of medical treatment or taking of these drugs - just providing sourcing for those that do. Please research and understand the risks and benefits before taking these drugs.

Saw both are available also at this German online pharmacy prescriptionfree: https://www.eurapon.de/

Are you aware of any completed RCT with naclosamide and covid?
Ah yes. Niclosamide is prescription free/over the counter in some countries.

No. I'm not aware of any RCT on niclosamide in humans, but I haven't looked deeply. However there are many in vitro studies showing it is potent against SARS-COVID. There is one in vivo study in ferrets for niclosamide: https://www.pharmaceutical-technology.com/news/daewoong-niclosamide-animal-data/

But one can compare tissue concentration levels possible with niclosamide and its IC50 concentration for inhibting covid and make a reasonable conclusion. Human trials should be done to confirm it's possible effectiveness. Nitazoxanide is similar to niclosamide and there may be some nitazoxanide human trials for covid.

Anyone else still use 0.5% Povidone-iodine nasal spray?

I used it a few times at the beginning of the pandemic, but then on one occasion I sprayed it into my nose, and it stung a bit. Not sure why, as it was the same solution that I made up some months earlier, which did not sting previously. So I stopped using it after that.

But I have hardly been out at all, so I have almost no contact with anyone who might have coronavirus.

Resurrecting this thread to post this intriguing, proposed method for using Povidone Iodine. ;)

Povidone-Iodine Hookah Therapy for the Treatment
of COVID-19 and other Respiratory Viruses: A
Hypothesis we must Test.

Hi anne_likes_red,
I purchased a Vaporiser to use this for myself or family members if they fall ill;
but this could possibly be used with a substitute cigarette like Vaporiser to create very fine Povidone-Iodine particles that would easily flow to the Nasal passages, Sinuses and Lungs just as happens with the substitute cigarette Vape? This would kill all surface and fluid held Virus and help slow down the spread to the lungs by attacking the Virus in the Nasal Cavities and Sinuses, stopping spread to the Gut and Lungs. Not sure if a hookah would give the fine diluted particles needed, but needs to be tested?

(Smokers could probably add flavours and Vape themselves well?; Humour!).

Povidone Iodine would have to be diluted correctly so that it will not damage tissue, but will still destroy the Virus.

Another simple drug would be a Bismuth Compound such as Bismuth Subsalicate for the Gut; this may also be of interest to those looking to destroy L-form Bacteria in dysbiosis. Bismuth has been used since Egyptian times mainly cosmetically; Bismuth Subsalicylate has both antimicrobrial and antiviral properties and is used for Norovirus and as an antinflammatory.

Pepto-Bismol can be purchased at most chemists and ''exhibits anti-biofilm properties, likely by inhibiting exopolysaccharides (EPS)- the biofilm matrix in most bacteria.''

There is still contention that Long Covid may be caused by Viral changes to the Gut Microbiome and Bismuth has also been used for Diarreha that comes at the beginning of Covid infections, so may be multiply beneficial.

Just an idea; but if Bismuth was dripped for a period into the Gut during the early stages it may help slow down or stop the spread of Covid-19 by not allowing the obligate pathogen to take a hold because Covid is dependent on cellular machinary of the Host to survive and multiply; at least in the Gut. Bismuth is considered safe for short term use and may be taken with some antibiotics, but this will have to be checked by your Doctor in case of any possible side effects.

I was prescribed Bismuth with Tinnidazole together for Helicobacter and Bacterial Overgrowth.

Thanks for your thoughts and the reminder about Bismuth. Interesting!
I have bismuth citrate to hand already in a Thorne product (Peptiguard). The label suggests it's OK to use it for eight weeks straight at the dose of 960mg per day. I got mine for possible HP infection too...but my test was negative so I didn't use it in the end.

My husband put this hookah thingy together for me. It does indeed deliver a vapour. I'm used to using povidone iodine nasal spray and gargling it too but I can feel this method gets it deeper into the respiratory system. I guess a cigarette substitute Vape would work fine too but users might need to be careful with the dosing.
