I started 0.1mg Abilify three days ago. Noticed I am more wired and a bit more energetic (I also take Quetiapin at night no idea if those add up).
Harder to fall asleep however which is also annoying.
Take it in the morning if it's interfering with your sleep. Also it took me at least 10 days to get over the initial side effects. After that it was clean energy and no jittery feeling. Give it a bit more time.

@hmnr asg how is the restart going?

Not too good. Before restarting I was in a big crash (after I stopped abilify). Restarting abilify took me out of the crash to my pre-abilify baseline but so far none of the benefits I had the first time around.

However, the first time i started at 1mg and this time I was going at 0.5 mg. So after about 10 days I decided today to up my dose to 1mg. So lets see what happens. I will update everyone after two weeks or so.

I am also curious how @Martin aka paused||M.E. is doing after the restart ?

This is a worry for me as I’m planning on starting Abilify next month and my ME-caused severe insomnia, super wired but shattered symptom in the evenings, and major sleep disturbances are really among the worst and most debilitating symptoms I have.

If I magically had no other ME symptoms other than the sleep-related ones and their consequences I feel I would be nearly as disabled as I am now. If you can’t sleep and, even when you do, it causes you these crazy exhausting sleep disturbances that sleep med polypharmacy isn’t strong enough to help, then you quickly become a non-functional zombie who can’t do much of anything.

Do Abilify sleep issues get better?

@jaybee00 you mean even worse than before starting Abilify ? Sorry to hear. Hope Ron doesnt drag his information about abilify out again for months...

Did he drag it out before? I saw on reddit that omf said it was the year of the cure. I was like uhhhh.....lol.

Or omf members/labs. Not sure didnt see exact quote.

Abilify is definitely no *cure* (it helps while you take it, and if youre lucky it will last more than a month in terms of effectiveness).
So, unless they have something else going on, this cant be it.

@hmnr asg — by crash do you mean you were in bed for most of the day?
By crash I mean my CFS suddenly got substantially worse. So I went from having maybe 6 hours out of bed to 2 hours. And even then it was a bad 2 hours where I just couldnt wait to go back to bed.
I guess we both experienced getting worse after coming off abilify (maybe even worse than baseline for me).

Why did you get off abilify? How long have you been off?

No improvement... Ad now I'm in a bug crash (from talking too much with my partner) and if I crash again in back to where I was before abilify

I only experienced mild sleep disturbance with abilify and it settled down quite quickly

I'm sorry that most of you are suffering the way you are, but appreciate that you've taken the time & energy to report your side-effects to us. Perhaps Abilify is the start of the answer & other drugs will follow. Feel better, each of you.....Yours, Lenora..
