What to Eat When Everything Makes You Sick?

I can so relate, although oddly rice does not work on my stomach.....I am pretty much down to grains (other than rice or couscous), a very few veggies (most don't work), a few fruits, a few nuts, and egg whites....legumes still seem to work, too, and so do some soups & some baby food veggies and fruit (not sure why and it seems weird eating them, but at this point, I'll go with whatever works)....there are some soups that do not have MSG in them (Amy's brand and Health Valley, I think are the ones I know of off hand - could be worng about that, though - too tired to check rt now)

...and no way can I handle the extra shopping, the prep and cooking, etc required with making things myself....actually I am currenlty on crutches bc I somehow managed to tear my calf muscle, and I am running out of the few foods that work, and have no way of getting them - not only is it impossible to push a cart and carry groceries into my apt on crutches, but I am also too exhasuted and dissy to really be able to use tham anyway.....so if I do not find someone to help very soon, I will literally have no food left

and I can also totally relate to the comments re foods tasting odd (actually some have been tasting really really bad, not just odd)

I have been craving fish, steamed veggies and a strawberry milkshake so badly - can't eat any of those anymroe....oh and sushi - my absolute favorite- I miss it soooo much...even craving salads and I have never been a big fan of those

Carrigon, its so much harder if you are alone. My doctor says that it is important not to eat a food more then once in 4 days, or we can develop an intollerence to it also. It is not a recognized treatment so it is harder to get information from a dietician but they can help. In BC we can dial a dietician 24 hr and a specialist dietician is also available who will call you back if she is not there at the time. Be careful with canned foods as some tins are lined with BPA. I was reacting to my all fresh veg except canned tomatoes soup so figured it must be from the lining. I also tested as intollerent of oatmeal but did not notice it. I also buy rice milk, and try and alternate between rice and almond milk. Here we can get referred to a dietician covered under medical. I had the intollerence testing and diet councelling and it seems the most difficult is the variation which is so much more difficult when you are alone. I hope this makes sense, am having trouble putting it together.

My doggie was so sic the other day nothing to eat or drink all day--made him congee--he wouldnt eat it---then added lots of rice milk ------it really helped him. He had diahrea all day so would have had to take him to the vet that night Hope this helps any with best friends!!

I'm finding that my thyroid med, Levothyroxine, is giving me bad heartburn/acid reflux every time I take it. I don't know what to do about it. I can't take synthroid, and the new Armour didn't work for me, it was awful. My doc won't prescribe Naturthroid, so only wants me on the synthetic junk, especially since the naturals have all be reformulated. The Lev is killing my stomach. I woke up with no heartburn at all, took my Lev dose, and bang, massive heartburn. I am so sick of having to take this med, too. It doesn't even do it's job. It has brought my levels way down, but I can't lose weight on it and I still get thyroid symptoms.
