UK 'CFS/ME' PACE TRIAL COMPLAINT UPDATE.

Professor Malcolm Hooper has received a letter dated 8 November 2010 from the Minister with responsibility for the MRC, The Rt Hon David Willetts MP.

David Willets states that the MRC is "thoroughly" investigating the complaint that was set out in "Magical Medicine: how to make a disease disappear" and awaits the promised response with interest" (see below).

Ok so let me see if I've got this straight? This MRC council is funding a study and there are negative and damaging allegations against this study? So upon complaining to the appropriate people the matter gets handed back to the MRC to investigate the allegations which in since are against itself? That just can't be right.

Thanks for posting this Kevin. At least Prof Hooper has now had a helpful reply to his "Magical Medicine" document from at least one person. I await the outcome with interest, though note also that, according to another thread on this forum, Peter White has apparently just applied for another GET trial (no further details supplied in the post).

Given that he also sits on at least one MRC CFS panel, along with Crawley, I should imagine that he will get the funding. I can only assume he knows of no other way to make a living for himself.
