I probably would be doing the same thing if I was in your situation. I'm not saying it's good advice, it's just that I'd be scared to take the full dose and taking a smaller dose would make me feel more in control.
Well, I've been examined by a cardiology specialist. I had an ECG and TTG also BP measured. Cardiologist thinks my heart is in good condition. He throws the ball to the endocrine specialist, tachycardia is not caused by a heart defect. He says coming of beta blockers would cause trouble when recently starting thyroid replacement hormone. I should keep taking the usual dose beta blockers and adjust the right dose of thyroxine hormone replacement.
I am relieved that the tachycardia was not caused by a heart defect. I kind of guessed that it was hormonal as it always happened when resting at night not during a physical activity.

It is possible to reduce your cholesterol and LDL levels with diet. Here's my blog post that has lots of info and also some of my personal experience. My thyroid level is fine...so it was not a player in my high lipid levels.....
Since I wrote that post, I've learned that even whole plant foods, if they have a high glycemic index (read: short grain brown rice and some fruits) will raise my lipid levels.
I had labs run on Saturday and am pleased that they look better, after eating my whole food, mostly plant based diet, focusing on lower glycemic index foods.
Here's a post that talks about the discovery of my not so great labs.... and how I figured out it was likely the GI of foods that was playing havoc with my labs....seems to be the case after getting my labs back yesterday.....

Oh, and I go into tachycardia too from time to time so I also see a cardiologist. It *seems* to be related to my CFS (virus--when they reactivate my heart is more jumpy)....and diet. It turns out I have multiple food sensitivities and when I went on an elimination diet (which I'm still working through) my episodes went from about 15 a year to 5 a year. The cardiologist was shocked. It *seems* when I eat foods that are a problem for me (eg wheat) my heart gets more jumpy.
Up until October I had had 5 bouts of tachy this year. Then in October I had 3 bouts, which is VERY unusual for me to have that many episodes in one month. Whether or not it was the hemp seeds I was trialing (which didn't work--gave me joint pain---and possibly a jumpy heart)...or whether it was viral related, I'm not sure. Either way, I'm off the seeds (all nuts and seeds for the record) and my heart has calmed down.
I do have metoprolol to take if need be....but I haven't taken it in years. Lying down immediately gets rid of it most times. (And yes, I had to lie down at the CFS conference in Florida a couple weeks ago due to tachy....)

My palpitations has been on a daily basis (especially in the beginning of what seems to be now a Hashimoto's attack) and only at night, waking me up from my sleep. I immediately feel better by sitting in the bed and sipping water. The only thing help is betablockers.

Routine thyroid panel is normal for the firs time! Really happy.
TSH, T3, T4 all normal.
Anti TPO is still very high, 605.64 IU/mL normal is <5.61
though, I'm very happy with this too. It was 1579 last time so its dropped well 1000 units!
Anti TG is high again 68.4 IU/mL where normal is 4.11 this was not measured before.
So antibodies are attacking but not as bad as before and euthyrox 50 mcg is working.
I recently had pneumonia could this be the reason? The antibodies were busy fighting infection and not attacking my own body so much?
Or is it gluten free diet? I'm now totally gluten free since March.
Or is it CBD oil? Abundantly using it.
Oh, my cholesterol is still high unfortunately. It was better before but now it is bad, 242 mg/dL should be <200
HDL is 67 mg/dL normal >35,
LDL is 155 mg/dL normal <130
and GGT is high too, 46 U/L normal is 9 - 36.
Any thoughts?
One more thing MCHC not sure what this is always on the boundary low. But never had any comments about this.

MCHC = mean cell hemoglobin concentration. It helps to diagnose anemia.

I love fruit in general. Not mad about melons much, they are very gassy for my gut. I have a lot of GI issues. I eat a lot of berry, cherry and plum type of fruit. They are abundant in our garden and olives too. We press our own olive oil from 5 mature trees in our garden. Naturally we're almost bathing in olive oil. I use a lot, I mean tons of it. I always considered it healthy and never thought will cause any health risk.
My dr here in health center said do not diet, (I'm not over weight in general and lost some weight recently due to ill health; pneumonia) she suggested eating a lot of artichokes and walnuts. Apparently they naturally help lowering cholesterol. Artichokes are in season now and they are lovely. I used to drink artichoke petal tea, I will do this again.
I will find it very difficult to give up fish. I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I don't eat red meat as I can't digest it well and I don't like the taste much. I also don't like chicken much. I don't eat legumes, beans etc. as I can not digest them at all. I'm now gluten free which made a huge difference.

Oh......I am a bit jealous that you press your own olive oil!!!!!! That would be wonderful! And while I do eat olive oil, I am limiting it to 1 tablespoon a day or less, to help my lipid levels stay low. I wish I could eat nuts, but they seem to give me headaches and / or joint pain so I'm staying away from nuts (and seeds) at the moment.
I have gone back to eating some fish....once a week....low mercury fish. I will retest my mercury levels next time I see my doctor and make sure that it is staying low. (It was high before when I ate fish nearly every day...)
I wonder if Manuka Honey would help your GI tract. It seems to be helping me some....
I, too, am gluten free. In fact it seems that rice is the only grain my body will tolerate at the moment....
