I have restarted this thread so that anyone who feels like partaking can.

My card for today is the Wheel of Fortune.

I would say that this would be as my life has been turning in many cycles over the last few months with some very big ups and some very big downs.

Please, please don't do it. You don't know what you're getting into.
I come from a family with a psychic tradition. Both ancestors and present were involved in diverse activities tarots reading, pendolum, reiki, coffee grounds and others I won't mention.
If anybody thinks that playing with the tarots or any other is just an innocent and harmless game they should start pondering on where the powers to foretell, "heal", affect people's lives etc. really come from. These powers are real.
We're still trying to break the bondage, negative influences and suffering, including ill health, that occult activities invariably bring over those who engage but also their families.
All of our former friends who were also involved in the occult have been in pretty uncomfortable situations and unfortunately, despite the consequences, not everybody succeeds in breaking away.

That's not been my experience at all. I think that practitioners bring themselves to this table, and can do themselves harm if they expect to manipulate or control others or their lives. But this is true in any interaction with the world........if we go in with the wrong intentions, we're the ones (often) who get squashed.

Personally, I don't think there's any 'fortelling' or any power 'doing' that. My best guess at the moment is that a tarot reading is a snapshot that's congruous with the energy of this instant in time, including my thoughts and feelings. It's a pattern, and I read a fixed future into it at my peril. I can change my feelings, do another reading, and get a completely different vision.

There's definitely a symbolic kind of synchronicity that happens with divination. In a certain way it reminds of dreams, except that "the reading" comes from the outside in, rather than the inside out.

Thanks Mir for your concern. I too come from a family with a strong pscyhic tradition. I also agree with Madie and Dreambirdie and believe strongly that if you come from a sense of self rather than from ego you will gain a lot from the psychic realm. It is only when you allow ego to take over that halm can come from it. I also believe this to be true of any religion or spirituality field.

Allyann,
we were in it for pure spirit of service to others and thought we were helping.
Some of the best "health" advice I have had, has come from friends who are clairvoyant. They have directed me to the medical treatments and doctors who have helped me the most.
me too, and that's precisely why it can be so deceptive.

hanged-man-1.jpg

SO here's my card for the day. THE HANGED MAN. A very funny image, as this guy has volunteered to invert his position in order to see the world from a different perspective. Since I woke up feeling very mentally fuzzy and toxic (which I strongly suspect is due to eating fish yesterday--no such thing as ORGANIC fish), I definitely need to re-arrange my brain today.

Any other thoughts on what this image means to you?

You'll note that the traveller is standing in the spot where one treasure is "missing":
you complete the treasure!

;) thanks guys. How have you been Madie and Leela? I've been busy moving into a new home. Callan is nearly two and is still full on but is the most loving kid.

I'm on the other end of parenting.......this is my first Christmas with nobody living at home. I don't have to hide all the presents as I'm wrapping! My 15 year old cat died just before Thanksgiving, so it's very quiet. I've started LDN and will likely go on antivirals in January, so.........possible progress coming???

How is your new house???!!!???

New house is fab. We built so I extended the shower and had a bench seat made so I can sit down in the shower. It has made a huge difference and I am back to having a shower every day. YAH! No more stinky me ;) it is also a lot more insulated so house is more of a consistent temperature. We have had the most craziest weather - stinking hot one day, freezing cold the next.

So sorry @madietodd to here of your loss. It is so hard when you lose a fur baby. Wishing you and @leela a wonderful Xmas and a new year where we all see our health improve xx

I'm currently having a rough time with my specialist as he is refusing to fill out forms for my insurance company. I drew these cards so if anyone has some insight to offer me, I'd appreciate it :)

I'm sorry Allyann that you are having these difficulties. I don't know anything about tarrot cards but from looking at the ones you have presented, the 'future' one looks real promising. It is a happy one picturing abundance and satisfaction. In addition, I noticed the little kid under the chair in a nice safe place.

I still draw comfort from my tarot cards. They help me draw inspiration from messages from the Devine an my own intuition. Today I drew the 3 of wands. To me this is looking back at where I have been over the last few months. The man's back facing towards me tells me that I am turning my back on my recent health issues.
