Thought i would restart this thread. Started cycloferon 3 days ago.
My 2 major infectious issues are cmv and staph sinusitis which are controlled well with avs and abx but when off these, the infections raise their ugly heads.
When off abx for sinusitis i last about 2 days and the sinus headaches and facial pain as well as blood pressure going up occur. I have been off abx now for 3 days, so far no issues with this, so its looking promising, fingers crossed?
CMV when off valcyte i last about 3 weeks and viral symptoms return which are global headaches(different to sinus headache), fatigue, memory issues and glands in my neck become sore, but i give it a week just to make sure this is the case and not just an ME up and down thing. Also it can be hard initially to distinguish between the cmv and sinusitis so need the extra time to be able to tell the difference. Within 3 days of being back on valcyte these symptoms ease dramatically, probably because viral load is down from the past longer treatment courses i have done. So im at the 3 week mark and no sign yet of viral symptoms.
Im hoping the cycloferon does its job of increasing interferon and nk function as well as neutrophils and macrophages. In the past i had some good success but i did have some issues with getting supplies at one stage. Also 2 things i think i did wrong last time, i think i stayed on cyclo too long without taking a break like one is suppose to with immune modes. So this time im doing cyclo for 5 weeks and then have a supply of immunovir i will switch too plus looking into a few other interferon inducers, specifically immunofan. The second thing, not really a mistake but i think these immune modes probably work better more at preventing infections or post antiviral treatment to help keep these infections down. A side note on inosine, i have been taking it for the past few months with no effect, so no more of that just immunovir when i go down that line.
So i think they would be useful in combo with antivirals or antibiotics for certain infections but really need to follow the av or abx treatment up with something like these interferon inducers to strengthen the immune system after infection treatment. And have a few to choose from to cycle between so tolerance doesnt occur to them.
I think for entroviral infections, they maybe worth using. dr chia has had some success with interferon treatments lower EV load but people feel alot worse on these treatment. Interferon inducers dont seem to have such severe side effects and many have anti inflammatory properties unlike interferon itself which can be very pro inflammatory.
I think its not one particular infection thats the issue for us but our dysfunctional immune system allowing these infections to take over. We need to treat the infections we find and then need to boost our immune function especially once we are on top of those infections??
I will keep this as my cycloferon log and see how long i can keep these to infections down.
My dosage schedule was 1 injection on thursday, followed by another on friday. From now on they will be mondays and thursdays. I have 10 ampoules, so should lasy approx 5 weeks.
wish me luck
