The grocery store I work at has introduced “sensory friendly shopping every Monday from 7pm to 9pm. Dim lights, no music, no announcements.

Interesting. BTW, does anyone else absolutely hate the music used in grocery stores? I assume many use the same commercial source. It's almost always someone with a terrible voice singing something that grates on my nerves. I keep wondering if it's intended to force people to shop quickly so they can flee the noise.

Mine plays some wonderful station....and I often burst forth on some isle, singing along. But I"ve lucked out apparently.

When I first moved here, I fell in love with the local small town grocery store: wall to wall carpeting, subdued lighting, cat litter absorbing oil drips in the parking lot....

For me: its the freezing temperatures inside grocery stores which cause me to flee and make limited purchases.... and have to keep jackets in the car in July.
