But why only as part of cognitively precipitated PEM?I think that one-sided pain may indicate problems with the cervical spine or some abnormality at the craniocervical junction.
PEM lowers pain treshold. So in some cases, when there is a small mechanical issue, it can show up (as pain) after excertion. But why only as part of cognitively precipitated PEM?
I very much doubt this based on my experience of it. My guess would be more along the lines of a referred pain originating from insufficient blood flow or energy production in some particular part of the brain or brainstem.PEM lowers pain treshold. So in some cases, when there is a small mechanical issue, it can show up (as pain) after excertion.
