"This team is also responsible for a very important breakthrough: amyloid – the substance that accumulates in the Alzheimer’s brain (and that of other neuroinflammatory conditions) is not actually a useless plaque, but rather a potent antimicrobial molecule that traps and kills viruses and bacteria. Our collaborators will apply their expertise to search for and characterize amyloid accumulation in ME/CFS brains."
