I get the sense that Quackwatch is rather deferential to certain types of authority. Sadly, some sceptics are more concerned with just criticising 'alternative' medicine, rather than criticising all medical claims which go beyond, or are unsupported by, the evidence, regardless of whether they come from 'alternative' or 'mainstream' medicine.

Is quackwatch connected to the Frank Furedi lot? I always forget those sorts of connections.

If that's the definition, I'd feel entirely comfortable having to defend in court my claims that Esther Crawley, and a number of other people involved in the promotion of the results from PACE, are quacks. Getting the chance to do so would be pretty enjoyable!
