Chilove- Did you see the doc in Austin? I drive to Houston to see Dr. Savalto. She is my mom's doc, and now I've turned into my mother, so I see her too. Anyway, I live closer to Austin and wondered about closer options.Bump. Anyone know of a good doctor in San Antonio?
My experiences in Austin:
- Wallace Taylor, M.D. seemed knowledgeable and comprehensive in his approach, and on my first visit gave me a massive binder full of relevant information and protocols. But he charges by the quarter-hour and I often found him talking so much that our appointments would run long, which exceeded my budget. (At the time I was 100% cash-pay.)
- Chris Larson, D.O. is a wonderful primary care physician, and has been supportive of whatever testing and treatment plans I have brought to him. But he doesn't specialize in chronic fatigue. I've had a hard time finding a doctor who does specialize in this area. Meantime, he's my go-to physician and I feel lucky to have him.
Currently I'm looking closely at digestive treatments, mostly using CFSRemission.com as a source of ideas. I really like his model of CFS as an illness rooted in imbalances of intestinal bacteria.
