was just wondering if anyone has inherited genetic disorders of collagen building blocks

Lots of people here have such disorders. This appears to be a risk factor. Run a search and you will find lots and lots of discussion here.

If there was a collagen building block missing how would the immune system react on discovering this maybe it would only take a common virus to get a reaction going that wouldn't switch off.In many ways the immune system would be acting correctly
