Having a crisis of meaning

Brings to mind that when I'm upset and feeling cynical and snarky someone offers the "And this too shall pass" thing I'll respond with something along the lines of,
"And it already is, in about the same way as a bad burrito."

Yes....those words are not much comfort when it is happening. I know

What do mean ‘other end of the spectrum... ,’ e.g, committed to Western ways?

I mean in regards to leading an active, fulfilling life. I used to be so immersed in life but now I'm far on the other end of the spectrum- barely feels like I'm even existing
