Glutathione: Is more better?

I have not taken NAC in a long time, but in any case its about individual responses. My dose is probably not your dose. Many patients find that its better to start slow and be cautious on any new med, at least for a while. I am alive because I did this, as one med caused a severe response.

I started today with 1/4 tsp of liposomal glutathione. I felt better than I have been. I am wanting to know more about glutathione. I am allergic to casein in dairy and so that leaves NAC.
Would I need to take NAC at the same time or before the glutathione?
How else can one boost glutathione?
Many thanks!

@Oci I know you were asking Alex but in case this helps will add my two cents. Was curious what you feel different with the liposomal glutathione when you said you felt better than you had been?

I have MCAS so this may not be relevant to you but my doc told me not to take NAC as it could trigger a reaction but that glutathione was okay. I am doing two forms, nebulized and transdermal skin cream, and am not taking any NAC.

The other forms are IV, injections, pill form, liposomal, etc. Supposedly pill form is destroyed before it gets absorbed by the stomach and doesn't work. I cannot do liposomal b/c of the preservatives. My mold doc felt the IV was too big of a dose too quick and all in one shot. She feels the nebulized is the best. For the transdermal, I had it made in a special base without preservatives and both kinds are kept in the fridge.

Hope this helps!

I hope you don't mind me asking some questions-- is nebulized glutathione the same as intranasal glutathione? Is it just like a nasal spray or do you need special equipment? And also do you need a prescription?

Do you feel like you get any benefit from the transdermal?

I plan on asking my doctor about this, but just want to be prepared with some info. :)

@PDXhausted I don't mind and nebulized is not the same as a nasal spray. You use a nebulizer (machine) and yes, you do need a prescription. You can get the pill form or the liquid form without a prescription but not the nebulized or the skin cream.

I am not sure if I have gained any benefit from the transdermal but I definitely have not had any negative effects from it. Mine is in a special "Emu base" b/c of my allergies.

Hope this helps!

For any of you that have tried liposomal glutathione, has anyone gotten insomnia from it? I was not expecting this at all, because prior to trying liposomal, I have used the reduced powder form transdermally, and have not had this reaction. No other adverse reactions to either. I get a sense of calm that kicks in, but doesn't last all that long. But last night when I tried a tspn of the liposomal, got the same sense of calm for a bit..then the insomnia kicked in and did not sleep at all last night.

Just wondering what's up with this if anyone has a clue. It was totally not expected.

My doctor told me to take it only before breakfast or lunch. I did not ask why.
I think if it helps detoxify, then the toxins are then floating around waiting to be eliminated. Maybe Phase 2 is slow? I find I have insomnia if I am fighting a cold or Candida etc.
I really don't know!

I do the nebulized glutathione at night after dinner b/c this is easiest for my family who helps me set it up (but have not had any problems this way so it must be okay?!)

hi Oci

I guess I should stay away from taking it later in the day and see how that goes. I didn't take it yesterday just to make sure I got some sleep last night which I did. Thanks for your response!

where can I get IV glutathione cheaply in NY? I've been poisoned by antibiotics and handicapped with deafness and brain damage from this forum.
No, you haven't. No one told you to take anything, and we repeatedly told you to see a doctor regarding your problems.

And if you did think you'd received such harmful advice here, you'd hardly be coming back for more of it.

Once again: talk to a doctor regarding your problems. No one here can or will give you anything vaguely resembling medical advice.

how do you nebulize glutathione for maximal absorption is bulk powder supplements a good kind?

can you supply that with NAC powder and whey protein? NAC in mouse studies destroys or thickens the walls of the lungs and heart

my doctor is killing me with high glutathione prices. he administers it with a butterfly IV?
