Hi Coming this late to the party. Is there a practitioner who i can get in touch with???
I see you have autism and ADHD. What I suggest is to skip looking at all the things you mentioned. I have years of personal experience doing extensive research on those, trying some of them, and a bunch of other things, and it's a giant rabbit hole.

Instead I suggest checking out the Andy Cutler mercury chelation protocol first. The reason is, if metals are your issue, it can be treated. Mercury and other metals can mess you up badly and cause all sorts of diseases and conditions. Tons of people are affected by metals and don't realize it. It's about $100 to do a hair test and see if mercury or other metals are affecting you.

There are a number of people with autism and ADHD (and ME/CFS) who have been helped. I've found this protocol to be the best thing I've ever tried in 23 years of trying things.

There is a lady named Rebecca Rust Lee who co-wrote Andy Cutler's latest book. She can provide more personal support and coaching (for a fee). Otherwise there is a very clearly written book called The Mercury Detoxification Manual, a Facebook group, and a website with a forum. The book is about $40, the rest is free. There are a number of moderators at both places who are very helpful.

If your issue turns out to not to be toxic metals, then you can proceed onto other things.

I have links to the various resources I mentioned in my signature link.

Thankyou so much @caledonia . I have joined the forum and the facebook group you mentioned and also checking out the website of rebecca. Can i get Hair mineral analysis from any place that comes up on google or are there places that provides better and detailed reports. Im thinking of getting the HMTA done before contacting Rebecca, once i know the status of my Heavy metals. Also i've had root canals and fillings and i am sure the standard is amalgym fillings or silver fillings. Should i get them removed? Sorry im asking too many questions

There is a specific hair test to get, and a specific way to interpret it. My suggestion would be to go ahead and contact Rebecca, and she can help you with your various questions. Or you can ask them on one of the Cutler forums or groups. Rebecca has a link to the hair test on her website which is discounted.

You will need to get all mercury in your mouth removed in order to chelate out the mercury. You should use a specially trained dentist who knows how to protect you from the mercury being removed, otherwise you can get a big exposure that way. Rebecca or the groups should be able to help you locate a dentist for removal.

Hi @caledonia Just updating. I am seeing a dentist in a few days to remove my amalgams and then start the chelation. There is one drug i've come across which is advertised as a treatment for loads of issues. Its an opoid receptor antagonist called Naltrexone. People take it on low doses. Have you heard of it. They have a facebook group and lots of presentations etc. I would love to know your thoughts.
Kind regards,
Muzaffar

Hi Muzaffar,
I've heard of it, but haven't personally tried it. It seems to be mostly used for FM type pain. I searched for it on the Cutler Facebook forum, and there are a number of posts. It looks like it helps some people, but others have trouble with tolerating it. There is no issue with trying it while you're doing the Cutler protocol.

In general, I think it's just one of those things you have to try for yourself to see if it helps or not. As always, it's best to proceed cautiously - for example, start out with a very low dose, then if tolerated, gradually increase if desired.

It seems there are so many genetic test labs out there now. Does anyone have recommendations? I had the holistic heal lab done 15 years ago (when it was $1200 or was it $1500?), it is now $530, still pricey. I see there is another lab at GenMax (or is it MaxGen?). It does not have all the same SNPs as at Holistic heal, but it has some of them, a total of 80 SNPs, costs $199, and includes some CYP SNPs I would dearly love to know. I am ordering a lab for my bf for his birthday and really don't want to spend $530. Is there a methlation panel for around $200 that is as good as holisticheal? Thanks!

BYW, I can make a big plug for epigenetics or SNP cascades overriding simplistic explanations of individual genes. For me, I have a COMT +/+ gene yet every test has shown I am low in dopamine (I will never be coordinated, sigh, despite that I get tyrosine every day and I take Thorne Basic B).

Also, I have whatever gene (I forgot and lost my gene test) that Yasko's protocol says because of this gene I cannot adequately get rid of ammonia (so I'm supposed to take charcoal and yucca). Well... I tested my ammonia level after eating 80g protein / day, and my ammonia was within limits. So... to my mind, that says this is prolly why I feel like crap on an Atkins diet, but I can handle the ammonia from a normal diet. I think charcoal might be a carcinogen anyway.

Also, I used to take a high dose of methylation supplements and I could get my homocysteine down to 6.3, which Life Extension used to recommend. However, with just the Thorne once a day it is 12, and it improves to 8-9 with 2x/day. What I need to get it lower is TMG, which I occasionally take. My biggest relief from brain fog and anxiety continues to be, not methylation supplements, but DHEA. Prolly the DHEA is helping to regulate my methylation and other things in some way unknown to me.

I strongly believe in labs so that one can reason out causes and effects and make connections and come up with ideas to help yourself. I think genetic labs are a place to start investigations, not the end of the story.

If you're already clued into epigenetics, I suggest Ben Lynch's book Dirty Genes, and also the Andy Cutler chelation protocol. Mercury can mess up methylation. Anyone can chelate it back out regardless of methylation genetics. It will save you big money on (probably) useless testing. I've done a lot of it myself.

Thanks. I had my mercury fillings removed and my doctor did some things to prevent me from inhaling mercury at that time, as well as put me on chlorella to help excrete mercury.

I think your document is excellent, btw. Thanks!

Oh, I also had my regular doc try chelation on me. The supplement you had to take made me ill plus scared the crap out of me because it removes ALL minerals and I control my genetic high blood pressure via calcium-magnesium citrate (I am ACE + /+). I believe this is a good thing to do if you can.

Might be worthwhile to at least take a look at the Cutler protocol or join the Facebook group and ask any questions there. This protocol solves the issues of typical naturopath type protocols. All of them are variations on Deitrich Klinghart's original protocol.

For example, the chlorella could be counter productive, and there are chelators that don't remove all minerals. The supplement may have made you ill because it wasn't dosed on its half life.
