Interesting, this, as I've been having problems lately, which I suspect might be BPPV, but I haven't had a chance to get the doctors yet to find out/get treatment.

One symptom I've had is when I'd move in bed too quickly, might eyes would start jumping from from left to right and back again, a bit like a typewriter.

I also sometimes have dreams where I'm flying out of control in all directions. Last one I had I was being thrown about by a giant :D. Makes me wonder what my eyes are doing while I'm having these dreams.
