Are there any foods high in magnesium that I could eat, insted of using supplements?? Because I can't get any Epsom Salt before next week. And I don't think that I can take any supplements at this moment..

"Barley grass also contains a remarkable amount of magnesium; not surprising, since magnesium is a part of chlorophyll, and barley is chock full of good natural chlorophyll, not artificially-produced chlorophyllin."

You can google for magnesium rich foods, but I will be surprised if you can tolerate them at this point.

Be careful with the magnesium sulfate (Epsom salts). Start with 1 teaspoon for the foot bath and build up your tolerance slowly. I can't tolerate it.

I think you are right, at this point I'm having problems tolerating anything.. Other than water..
do you ingest the table salt or do you keep it to mouth swishes? You need to swallow some Sodium. Mouth swish is just a quick fix for when you're in crisis and spewing fluids from both ends.

You shouldn't drink just plain water. Like any other dehydration victim you need water + salt + glucose.
1 quart fluid (approx. 1 litre) + half a teaspoon of salt + 6 level teaspoons of sugar is the official guideline
Imo, you should take more salt, up to 3 teaspoons to a litre of water the first time. You'll pee out the excess.

Sodium-Potassium is the most important balance in the body. All the other salts and minerals come after that.

Magnesium rich foods are dark chocolate and almonds. But your better off with a supplement unless you want to eat it by the bucket. Avoid magnesium-oxide, the body doesn't process -oxide. Magnesium-citrate is good but also laxative. You can choose Magnesium-malate or something else.

I got intolerance to water as well. You should do like WoolPippi said.

Magnesium oxide was the only form I could tolerate and I could never have taken the amount of magnesium by food just like WoolPippi said.

Stebor don't worry, you won't need to supplement minerals forever. Just until you rebalance your electrolytes.

Sorry to resurrect the thread but I came across this one googling - your symptoms overlap mine in quite a strong way.

I thought my issues were caused my magnesium deficiency also, but it wasn't the case. There are lots of compelling websites that link to or sell magnesium products. That said, perhaps magnesium is still useful for many.

Basically, you're NOT EATING ENOUGH. Especially since the onset. You'll need to force 3000+ calories down despite the lack of any appetite (it'll come back to some degree after 2 weeks to a month, but you'll be feeling far better by then).

Even if you were not underweight before the events described, it's entirely possible you were undereating, especially if we were active. Please please read youreatopia blog and archived forums.. I don't suggest living off sugary foods (and never ever drinks), however if that's what you need to get you started then go for it.

Eat more, please. It's a hard road but it's far easier than living with what you have. I have no idea how you've done it for so long. I hope you read this.

TLDR: The reason your adrenals couldn't cope in the first place is because you weren't eating enough calories. Wellness industry and life stresses or the desire to eat clean, or a busy job, or caffeine, or a million other reasons can cause people to eat too little calories. Unless you're eating around 3k calories per day (especially if you're exercising) as a male then you're probably not eating enough.

Appetite and metabolism adjusts to undereating often, so you'll need to force yourself for a little while. Adrenal fatigue is often (very very very often) just undereating / overexercising. I was eating 1600-2000 calories a day and many dieting or fitness sites would suggest this is fine. It is not - I'm 5'9 and male.

Please eat more! You will get better, trust me.

Reopening this since I had a similar reaction after taking 250mcg mb12. Had some episodes of strong headaches and dizziness after that. After various high-potassium foods a day and a half: potato, pineapple, and peaches I realized I was nauseous and was craving salt, which could have been the missing intracellular sodium. I felt better after using some marine salt, but it seems I got back to the start after some hours.

Just tried also some topical magnesium that helped with brain fog, but probably reduced sodium again.
Any suggestion?
