I recently got a CBD cream to apply to the skin. I"m finding it to be incredibly helpful. It seems to rather work.

I'm rubbing it onto my jaw and around the ear/lymph area...it seems to reduce the inflammed feeling for several hours and its less painful.

Also rubbing it on my neck, and have less inflammed feelings there as well.

I don't have experience taking cbd internally....

Hi @Rufous McKinney -- Happy to hear about your results. Do you by any chance deal with tinnitus with all that inflammation around your ears? Also, have you ever suspected some of that inflammation might be coming from some kind of infection in that area? -- I had a molar extracted this week, and am now seeing how an infection in that area has probably been causing inflammation and various pains for several years.

I have problems with sleep, high level of anxiety, sometimes my memory can be partially lost, I can forget the names of people I know or the way home when I'm driving (but when I walk from a store to my house I remember the road), I am waiting for the confirmation of my diagnosis of CE/CFS, but I already want to help myself somehow, I am a fan of natural medicine, now I want to learn more about CBD oil and how to use it, although I realise that I need some more serious medication and diagnostic

What I found with CBD oil is that you have to spend a lot of money to take enough of a high daily dosage of high quality oil to feel anything. Way more than they say to take on the bottle so you would end up having to spend $$$ for just a marginal effect. Not worth it.

I know there was a thread a few years ago, but now that MJ is legal in my state and CBD is widely sold I wanted to know if anyone has tried it.

If so, what kind did you buy? eg; full or partial spectrum made from hemp or marijuana? Any drug interactions to be concerned about? Any particular brand you like?

I've used CBD oil concentrate both 14% raw Green label and 24% heated Gold label. The 24% heated Gold is an excellent antidepressant. Raw is intended for pain but the effect doesn't last long, only 4 hours, so it isn't cost effective or convenient. I buy from madebyhemp.com because they have excellent sales if you stay on their email list and lab test their products.

So my doctor has confirmed that it is CE/CFS, now we plan my treatment plan, and of course, as I am a natural medicine lover I asked her to include some cannabis products, I`m thinking of buying the oil but not sure where to buy it and if there any difference of it, I was looking here for CBD oil https://knockoutcbd.com/cbd-product-category/cbd-oil-tincture/ but sure I do not understand what are the criteriums to choose the supplier, does anyone know how to identify a good CBD product? I would be much appreciated if someone of you can recommend where to buy it better, it is a bit difficult now to think about my illness and to manage the treatment by myself

Gosh I never saw this....comment, @Wayne...Oh- I was real sick last Dec with gastro stuff.

I do have tinnitis- it seems to come on in the afternoons with other inflammatory issues, and my brain typically feels like its full of crunching cellophane when the tinnitus is more noticeable. But I don't sense any infection in the area of ears, etc. My lymph is pretty stagnent, and I have some swollen lymph nodes in the neck..which is right next to the jaw, ear tubes etc.

UPDATE: It's been a long time since I started this thread. My husband and I have both been taking CBD capsules at bedtime for a long time now. 150 mg for him, 50 mg for me.

It has helped us to sleep better - although not perfectly - but a lot of that has to do with our age. Getting old ain't for sissies. LOL.

There's no doubt in our minds now that it has been amazing for the pain in his thumbs. The pain in is thumb joints was so bad that his orthopedic surgeon wanted to do surgery, but since he's been on the CBD oil he is totally pain free. He works with his hands a lot and never has a problem anymore.

Another thing that has happened, and we can't prove this for sure, is that he has always had a problem with very low HDL (good cholesterol) and high cholesteral and triglycerides - despite being super healthy and an avid runner. His last lipid panel came back normal. I can't help but wonder if it's the CBD as it's the only change he's made.

As for me, taking CBD at bedtime, and slowly increasing the dose from 10mg - 50 mg helped me fall asleep easier. It also helped my daytime anxiety and my aches. But I think it's causing my overall fatigue to be worse. I don't know if it's just my ME/CFS worsening as I age, or if it's due to the CBD, but I've stopped taking it as of last night and will see if I get back some stamina. I've been too exhausted to even take a short walk with my cane (like 1/4 of a mile).

Overall though, I'm now a firm believer that a good quality organic CBD oil that is third party tested can be of great value for pain and possibly for anxiety for some people.

Oh, and one more thing. My husband applied for a new life insurance policy and THC showed up in the urine test. They wanted to know if he uses marijuana (which he doesn't). They raised the policy rate so high that it became unaffordable.

@Gregory - I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. This forum should help you a lot to know you're not alone, and also in learning how others deal with this.

I love the CBD products made by Lazarus Naturals in Oregon!. The company is wonderful! I used the capsules (started with 10 mg and gradually worked up to 50 mg) I also love their Lavender CBD balm for achy muscles.

Every batch is 3rd party tested by a reputable outside testing lab and the results for each batch are on their website. Besides having an excellent product, they're extremely generous to those in need, as CBD oil is expensive. They offer 60% discounts to veterans, disabled, and low income (when proof is provided).
From their website:

"From the farm to your door
We do it all. From our farm to your front door, aside from the delivery truck. That's how we are able to deliver consistent, high quality and effective products

"Since the beginning, we've dedicated ourselves to making effective, high quality CBD that's affordable. We believe it should be accessible to all, regardless of circumstance.
Nothing to hide
There's no secret to our approach. From the organic hemp we farm, to our ever-growing family of products, we focus on consistency and sustainability. As pioneers in the CBD industry, we've learned how to do things right and pass that on to you by keeping prices down and potency up. There's always room for improvement and we are eager learners.

I hope you can find some treatments to help.
Best wishes.

Just wanted to share my success with CBD oil. It didn't seem to do much when first taking it. So, I stopped taking it. However, I have had a symptom that occurs about 1 or 2 times a week for the past 5 years. I wake up in the AM and have a "flickering" effect in my vision. It is similar to what I used to see before migraines(many years ago). I have always thought this was due to some type of swelling or pressure on my optic nerve but that is just speculation. I did have an MRI of my entire head by an ENT that didn't lead to any diagnosis.
So, the last 2 or 3 times I have awoken with this "flickering", I have taken about a 100mg(ish) dose of CBD oil under my tongue for 5 minutes. The "flickering" has completely disappeared in about 10 minutes or so. It usually hangs around for about 1/2 the day.
Hope this can help someone else if you have this symptom.

"flickering"?
I don't know how else to describe it...there is almost a strobe light flashing quickly in a single location near the center of my vision(both eyes). It is hard to describe but is accompanied with pressure around my eyes/forehead. It seems like it is similar to "migraine aura" but again I don't have a Dr.'s diagnosis for that condition.

Thanks for the explanation. I've had something similar at times but put it down to extreme fatigue and the inability of the brain to switch off naturally.

well Gee I missed this! (nothing like blasts from the past).

Yes I experience some tinnitus, that seems tied to a comparable feeling inside my brain (turns to cellophane, crunch crunch)...it comes on around 2- 3pm most days. Things do alot of swelling mid afternoon. Squeeze, Misfires.

I've had less of that....lately. (make note of an improvement)...and as I've dropped almost every protocol here lately due to (burned out temporarily grumpy)....except Quercetin- wonder if thats helping? I was trying it as - a possible reducer of mast cell stuff...(that I think I have but am not diagnosed with).

I do rub CBD lotions into my jaw...and around the base of the ears, back of the neck, and it helps with some...pain and inflammation in those areas.

I just got a new kind thats BOTH THC and CBD in a bees wax and contains oils like eucalyptus and tea tree- its targetted for pains and aches. Husband brought it for me, I do want the Plain Jane lotion I got, back. Of course now they don't carry it. Its a bit trickier as I now have to keep it away from my nose and eyes due to those oils.

Last night I was noticing ...how close the ear canal is to the jaw issue. So I rubbed some tHC/CBD cream into this area...the back of the jaw and that whole area is very inflamed in me, very sore if I rub it/plus lymphy around there.

Not so much if I don't rub it. So things are sore and inflammed there, all the time it seems here.

I don't have TMJ that I am aware of, altho it arose as a LockJaw when I took Zoloft for two days. (3 months to recover from that little mistake).

My tinnitus has been a bit less lately, I'm a bit less run down it seems, lucky me!

The tinnitus is most likely due to virally caused inflammation of the 8nd cranial nerve. ME patients have inflammation everywhere.

The most common causes of acquired hearing loss are noise exposure (sensorineural damage at the organ of Corti), otosclerosis (conductive damage at the middle ear ossicles), otitis media (middle ear inflammation interfering with conduction), cerumen impaction (mechanical blockage of the outer ear, interfering with conduction), presbycusis (age-associated sensorineural hearing loss), trauma, and Meniere's disease (viral infection) (transient loss of hearing associated with attacks, sometimes permanent deficits after multiple attacks).

tinnitus Everywhere!

Yesterday a high pitched actual "sound" clicked on- it went off after about a minute. That was unusual.

My version of this is very subtle and I never feel like its "my ears"..because its hooked into my brain.

I'm 11 years in with my Chronic Sinus issues that won't go whatever drug / remedy I take, prescribed or otherwise. The more fatigued I am the louder the tinnitus.
