Carbs/Sugar practically puts me in a coma - Why does this happen?

Another thing to consider:

After eating, blood flow to the gut increases to facilitate digestion. This is a phenomenon referred to as postprandial or functional hyperemia:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK53094/

This means that there may be less blood left over for pumping up into the brain, worsening orthostatic intolerance. For more information, see:

Orthostatic Intolerance Basics: Dysautonomia of Blood Vessels, Low Blood Volume, and Baroreflexes
https://forums.phoenixrising.me/thr...sels-low-blood-volume-and-baroreflexes.86445/
It seems that POTs is a fairly common condition for people with CFS/ME. If you get tired after eating and nothing seems to help, I'd suggest seeing your doctor about POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). These instructions are the best at-home test for POTS I could find online: https://batemanhornecenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/NASA-Lean-Test-Instructions-1.pdf

This used to happen to me until I started taking benfotiamine. Now I can eat carbs and sugar without my fatigue and pain shooting through the roof.

Do you still take it? Many months ago I tried my reaction to it was similar to niacinamide where I'd get a small increase and energy and then shortly after I'd tank further. Would happen with every form.

I still take it daily. I don’t get any side effects from it. The only B-vitamin I get side effects from is folate which is odd because I get side effects from nearly everything else I’ve taken.

Thiamine did something similar to me, though it initially gave me a major energy boost, not small one. And was followed the next day by severe fatigue. I finally figured out that the thiamine was causing my phosphorous to tank (refeeding syndrome), which was the cause of the fatigue. I drank several glasses of kefir (high in phosphorous) and sure enough, the horrible fatigue abated. Eventually I started taking a phosphorous supplement, which I need daily, and I'm able to take thiamine daily too now. Early signs of low phosphorous can include double vision and trouble swallowing - pills start to stick in my throat - it affects the small muscles first, fatiguing them, before the larger muscles.

Phosphorous supplements are hard to find - this one is pretty good: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074XQLRT3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Aha! 🤔 😃
Directly Relevant after bloodwork done the 11th, nurse called a day or so ago and said it was all good but I was a just hair low on phosphorous, try a combination of eating more phosphorous vegetables and a supplement.

Now, off to Amazon.

I'd much rather spend my poverty level Social Security Disability on books and hobby supplies ...

but ...

ya kinda do need to have enough health to make use of them ...

I hear you - I have to spend an obscene amount of money on supplements to have the modicum of functioning that I do have - but I keep remembering the first 12 years of this illness where I almost never had any energy or felt well at all, and then starting in 2010 things started to fall into place a little, piece by piece, and had to keep adding things - it's endless and a lot of it is just to help with sleep! :aghhh: I hate doing it but I hate not sleeping even more, or being pretty much bedridden.

It really bothers me that there is no prescription for phosphorous that would be covered by a Medicare drug plan! So I have to pay out of pocket for something that I really need to function! Oh, that's right- no one can make a fortunate off of a phosporous supplement so it's not covered by insurance. sorry, bit of a rant here!

What are those side effects? Did you know that methylfolate and methylcobalamin can both cause potassium levels to drop when treating a deficiency? This is very common in persons with ME/CFS - we can develop a refeeding syndrome reaction when supplementing with folate and B12 - our bodies can start using more potassium as they start to function better, using the folate or B12, and thus need more potassium, causing a functional potassium deficiency.

Your side effects could be something else too, of course, but if you haven't already, I'd urge you to read some of the threads on the forum about potassium and folate and B12.
