charles...oh i missed your bloodwork. wow so everything is high. what are you on now? i totally agree with the infection theory of MS and the iron buildup. i read that viruses can cause iron buildup too.

und....my kidneys seems to be holding up. i have not done any bloodwork at VIP since beginning Vistide..its just so expensive. maybe i will do some testing at the 3 month mark. hhv6 antibodies would be a good idea to test now....i remember montoya's original study showed that his patients who responded had a spike in their antibody levels during treatment, indicating, he said, that the immune system was "seeing" the virus and fighting it.

is there a particular lab that is recommended for hhv 6 antibody testing now? i think some of the labs have stopped doing it.

i had a nap and woke up drenched again. wonder if this could mean something is happening?

i have had a more swollen head lately.. i mean, i think it is worse than before the vistide but i cant be completely sure.

2 doctors have told me i would know soon if its going to work...wish there was some way of knowing i was on the right track. i heard dr. peterson does inflammatory marker testing. anyone have any more details? perhaps i can get just TNF-a tested...i dont know.

Relevance to us- viral/bacterial cns infection that causes ms, by sequestering iron and causing a build up in veins that supply blood to the brain. Perhaps an iron chelator, desferoxamine or exjade, both of which show anti viral activity against hiv (read xmrv) could hit the virus and remove iron from the veins at the same time.

Perhaps like those ppl with ms, we have some infection in our cns like the back of your brain (where you said you felt something growing and I have sharp pain) is being blocked by excess iron or iron deposits. Iron serves as a growth factor for most infections, bacteria/viruses. So maybe once it get desposited, fuels an infection that cant go away until its addressed- not to mentition the decreased blood flow to the brain.

I have a strange iron issue going on which I cant work out why its happening but its the opposite to yours charles. Im eatting meat 3x daily, massive amounts of it (sometimes as high as 600g per meal) as I also crave it but I have no iron stores showing on my blood tests. So I wonder what is going on with my iron.. Im either not absorbing it or something is using it faster then I can store it. (its only my iron stores which show im bascially anemic not the amount I currently have in my blood).

Just want to say a couple things, theres intracellular iron and extracellular iron, I dont think u can really measure intracellular iron, but you might be high in iron and not know it.

2nd, how good is your diet? Sugar or diet drinks can set up a craving type cycle for meats, feeding bacteria that release chemicals that tell your body that it is hungry, even after large portions of food. Try eating just a salad for lunch and cut out all foods with sugar, a diet label or has preservatives.

3rd Drink alot of bottled water, I like mine with ice.

I hope you don't delete it, Daffodil. I and, I'm sure so many of us, like it. "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings" is the feeling I have about this whole retrovirus mess.

I think it will be really interesting when your titres for viruses go down on the Visitide, hopefully that will boost the effectiveness of the arvs.

There are alot of ppl spreading the message that "Xrmv is dead", meaning its been checked off the list of possible causes. I think its pretty clear there are alot of Xrmv mutants that are now being explored by the Whitemore Institute, so when testing gets more accurate the nay sayers will have to shut up.

I was having really bad neck pain....sometimes I have to go back on something I had to stop before when I get desperate enough.

I think I'll have to take 2 or 3 days off between doses. Less heart racing/inability to sleep, but less popping joints, muscle pain.

I think the deckoff jones blog is terribly wrong for quoting this thread as a anti retroviral suffering warning....maybe she hasnt read how great Daffodil natural killer cells have recovered, or how slow recovery is for us all.

Venting about our fate isnt specific to antiretrovirals treatment.
