We don't know. Maybe. Even if that is right it does not mean it cannot be treated once we know enough about it.

PS Many of us go into full or partial temporary remission. Its not clear that most damage is not reversible. Its just we still don't know how to do that.

@cheeseus is there any studies/evidence that there ISN"T any kind of irreversible permanent damage?
