Where/how can I get Potassium in Australia?

Hi,

I've recently started treatment for my Chronic Fatigue. My specialist recommended some medications that are close to Freddd's protocol but hadn't mentioned Potassium as a supplement.

I'd like to start taking this and have ordered from iHerb so waiting on delivery. Thought I'd be able to get something interim locally but coming up empty.

One shop has told me I need a script from a Dr and would get Slow K. Another store wanted to sell me a blend of Potassium and B6 for about $20.

Clearly the best thing is to get well stocked via iHerb but how does one start with Potassium locally in Aus?

Cheers,

Chris

i would do the script from the doc as it very cheap and its a good dose of 500mg from memory, where if u buy a supplement i think they cant put anymore then 99mg or something like that??

Otherwise look at iherb, there postage to australia is $8 and it gets here in 2-3 days.

You will also get better priced b6 or maybe look into p5p which is said to be a better type of b6??

Thanks @heapsreal. I've ordered some of that Potassium Gluconate already and it is currently processing. iHerb have been good with orders in the past so hope it will be here soon although their holiday will impact processing.

I've already got a lot of B6 and P-5-P as I'm treating Pyroluria as well as CFS.

My problem with the Potassium script is my GP is away on holidays for another week and it is a 2-3 lead to get into see the specialist.

I was hoping to scrape through until the iHerb order comes through. Will try and eat more Sweet Potato and Banana to get my Potassium that way in the mean time. I might see if I can get a Schuessler salts product that has more Potassium in it as well.

When grocery shopping look for diet salt, it contains a larger quantity of potassium then sodium, might be another option for you. Dont ask me why they call it diet salt.

Thanks for the replies @taniaaust1 and @alex3619.

Agree cheaper and much easier to buy from the likes of iHerb even if I can get stuff via script.

Waiting on iHerb to ship the order which is currently delayed by one item. No biggy.

I just got 1.5kg of potassium chloride for $AU33 + postage from the Melbourne Food Depot.

I go through about half a tsp a day, and it will likely keep me going for years.
