This would also explain why patients are not more physically active after successful treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome: they do not necessarily have to move more, but their perception of effort and symptoms has to change.

I don't think that explanation explains what you think it explains.

I wonder how such royalties work? Who pays them/when do they need to be paid? e.g. is it just if another research group uses them in a study? Also what level of money are we talking about would people think?
