What happens when patients know more than their doctors?

Did you tell them that condescending is a big word too?

Perhaps they need to be asked: what is the evidence base for the benefit/harms for using condescending language in medical practise?

I thought of saying, "Yeth, and I'm only thikthty-two! (Yes, and I'm only sixty-two.) Am I old enough to use big words now?"

HI, @kangaSue. I started to read this when you posted it. What I read I thought was very helpful, insightful and would help me a lot with my appointments.

I'm preparing to see a new doctor again and went to read this last night and it's gone. I googled it and all I could find was pinterest, facebook or scoop it (which I'm concerned to open). I can't get back to a site to read the text.

Per chance did you or anyone save the written text? Hopefully someone has it. Thank you.
