How much B12 are you taking now @ahmo? Is it a methylB12 you're using transdermally?
I'm down to about 2-2.5mg/day. I don't count the 400mcg in my B complex. Yes, I'm taking this transdermally. JUst finishing the last of my Bluebonnet drops, onto the much less messy use of 1/2 Country Life tab. I reckon I'm using 1/2 of what I'd need using this sublingually. Doesn't make logical sense, as sublingual is so superior to swallowing, but, for me at least, transdermal is even more so. I've just found the same W/ FMN, sublingual B2. I've now gone to 1/2 dose by using it transdermally.:)

That or a gun...sorry just so sleep deprived its all I can think about.

Throwing it out there but have you tried seroquel?
Doses for severe insomnia vary from 25mg to 100mg .
I have found it helpful and sort of resets things when going through bad patches . After a good nights sleep from seroquel, I find more traditional meds like zopiclone with antihistamine work again.

I wonder if you would wake up from anesthesia feeling rested and refreshed.

Probably not but i think parts of your brain would have had a rest, maybe helped the brain recover some.

In intensive care with severe head injuries they place people in induced comas for long period of time , one reason would be a pain relief aspect the other is it can help by reducing the brains metabolism and aid recover and reduce inflammation . Its sort of about the bodies own ability to heal itself.

I guess with cfsme if the cause isnt treated than benefits are temporary????

My own experience with sleep deprivation and the intense feeling of inflammation in my brain. Its eased up alot after a long nights sleep sedated with seroquel . The next few nights are easier to sleep also, maybe its a chance for the brain to reduce inflammation and cytokines etc. Why i feel like its a reset button .

You might consider Neuroprotek. I found it worth the price, including shipping costs. It really cooled my brain. I'm linking 2 vids, one w/ the creator of Neuroprotek, Dr Theoharides, talking about brain inflammation in autism, the release of histamine. The 2nd a 15 min. vid talking about NP. I was convinced to try because he's a pharmacologist, had created a unique delivery system, and has been working in this area for a long time.

My preference is always for the simplest form of supps I can manage, but this product let me immediately drop several of my other supps, including hypothalamus glandular. Sometimes I'd find myself awake at 2 or 3AM w/ racing mind, I'd be able to sleep w/in 15 minutes of taking one.

I have on occassions had a good dose of b12 injection, 6000mcg and felt a reduction in inflammation but cant do it late at night as it can also worsen sleep.

With me it is a toss up of whether the side effects of the drugs justify the sleep from them. All drugs have lost this test except for zolpidem and even that makes me depressed after a few days use.
I have spent my entire LIFE trying to find a balance between drugs and sleep and I have failed.
I either feel shit from sleep deprivation (which is by far the worst thing in this whole illness as it screws with me mentally) or feel shit from drug side effects or withdrawal.
It is a lose lose situation.:aghhh:
I tried a protocol made up for those people dying of fatal familial insomnia and it did NOTHING for me...spent hundreds of pounds on things like green algae from the deepest lake in Mongolia and bark from the amazonian solitude tree etc but ZILCH no sleep improvement.
I am destined to die an insomniac.
Oh the joy of sleeping forever!!!!:angel::angel::angel::angel::angel::angel::angel::angel::angel::angel::angel:
