Forgive me for dragging the tone down (I love checking in to find out what the alpacas have been spitting and who @Gingergrrl has been supplying magic pills to).

My brain was only up to doing something very tedious this afternoon so I had a look at all the other stories in the Leadership category. There are about 38 stories, 30 of which have less than 500 votes and another 5 of which have less than 5000.

There are only three that, at this point, are in the running to win the $5000 prize:
Palomacy Pigeon and Dove Adoptions - 12751 votes
Blue Ribbon Fellowship (US!!!) - 14551 votes (at the time)
Woodland Wildlife Refuge - 19110 votes

It's hard to beat cute animals ('beat' in the competitive sense, of course) but we are giving it a good go. But, to win the $5000, we need to drag more people in to vote with us.

I worked out the daily number of votes by recording the number of votes first noted each day. The daily vote number is pretty constant.

LOL :dog: (no alpaca emoji so doggie was the closest one!)

Wow, we have different brains, and your chart was very impressive even though I have no idea how you made it.

we need to drag more people in to vote with us.

I agree but how do we do this?!!! Surely our great sense of humor must be attracting new voters from the larger board?...:D:p:rofl:

5K or 50K? So about 200 votes a day looks to be the average?

A cute animal beating competition - sign me up for that! I'm sick of them all. If I see one more picture of a cat ...

LOL and I am not a fan of cats (deathly allergic life-long) although I am a big-time dog lover. (And we are just joking re: the animal beating in case anyone reading thinks otherwise)!

It's $5000 for a win in the leadership category. We are quite a long way off the pace for the $50,000 win.

What can we do for the $50K win for Ryan? Sorry if this was already explained! It won't let me vote yet but I will later when it does.

I don't think we can do anything to help Ryan win $50k, except to get him to the next stage of the competition by voting for him.

If I remember correctly, the top stories with the highest number of votes will get selected to go to the next stage (the judges stage) and then the judges will pick an overall winner based on certain subjective criteria.

It's entirely up to the whiskey judges to choose the winner. And we don't even know how much whisky they will have drunk when they make the decision!

Rules from the website:
http://www.eaglerarelife.com/content/official-rules

You may vote for your favorite by clicking the vote box on the Sponsor’s site www.eaglerarelife.com . Members of the public may vote for multiple stories but only once per story, per 24 hours. .

The top 30 submitted stories meeting all eligibility requirements will then be judged by the Sponsor, or its independent agent(s) who will determine which will be displayed on the Eagle Rare “Lead a Rare Life” website.

Finalist judging will take place from Jan 5, 2017 to the week of March 6, 2017, and will be based on the following criteria: a) Relevance to the Promotion Theme (50%); b) Originality and Creativity (20%); c) Story Quality and Clarity (10%); and online voting by website visitors (20%).

The entry with the highest overall score from the top 30 will then be placed on the Eagle Rare “Lead a Rare Life” website as the grand prize winner.

In addition, the entries with the highest scores in each of the six categories <e.g. Leadership> will be placed on the Eagle Rare “Lead a Rare Life” website as category winners.
