Vitamin D with VDR mutation

My Vitamin D level stays pretty low (20s and 30s). I’ve been supplementing with liposomal D drops, 6-8,000 IU every other day for several months, and it hasn’t moved.

I have the VDR gene mutation, which I understand prevents the body from up taking Vitamin D. Does anyone know a workaround or solution?

I also have this and take pretty high dose vitamin D but not as consistently as I should. However, I have seen my levels go up.

My Mom also had this and we were able to get her levels up as well into the 80s I believe. (I mention her because I have not been tested lately.)

I would say to make sure you are taking things like K2 with it (maybe boron too). Also try different brands. One brand I bought made me feel sick. Fish oil types and Prohealth brand seem to work the best for me. I feel a tiny boost after I take them.

Also when I was being more disciplined and probably taking too much my teeth started to get loose and gums bleed so I think as my body was using the Vit D it was creating a Vit C deficiency so make sure to take as well.
(I did feel pretty good at those levels though in spite of the teeth issue but probably wouldn't try that again. It was my modified version of the Coimbra MS Protocol.)

Here's one of Ken Lassessen's blog topics on Vit D: https://forums.phoenixrising.me/blo...o-b-vit-thus-autoimmune-and-lousy-sleep.2521/

And another one of his sites:http://lassesen.com/cfids/recommended_levels.htm
Read the topic on boron there too if you have a chance: http://lassesen.com/cfids/supplements/boron.htm

I also have a VDR mutation that is supposed to really impact my assimilation but taking 5000 IU every day keeps me at 60-70.

Thank you all for all of the suggestions! I’m going to up my dose and take it every day, add a bit of Boron, and switch products to see if I can absorb it better. Many thanks!!
