Hi Everyone
I have that very Hot sensation 24/7 where I feel like my clothes are going to catch on fire.
For some reason my brain is telling me I am Hot, but it does not trigger the sweating function to try and cool me down.
Does anyone else feel very Hot but never sweats ?

Or does anyone know why the sweat function does not work?
Thanks

Sweating and temperature regulation are partly controlled by the autonomic nervous system (ANS), so it could be an ANS problem or a problem elsewhere that is affecting the ANS.

Do you ever sweat?

Hi
I sweated in hot conditions all my life
I have had this very hot sensation for the last 3 years 24/7 and I have not sweated a drop in this time.
Seeing research abstrats that some patients with me and long covid
May have lower blood circulation in parts of the body and brain I looked for something that could help blood circulation.
I started taking horse chest nut and this morning I am feeling chilly even under a light cover.
It does give me a pretty decent headache though !
I have only took two capsules so far.
I see where it helps leg circulation ,
And lowers inflamtion so in theory it should help every where?
Its strange to feel chilly !

. Only break was for almost 6 days after a Dr trial 30mg daily od Prednisone.
Ah prednisone !
If only it didnt come with side effects, and various nasties from long term use (Ive found my brain functions again when on prednisone, -do miss my brain),
seriously though have experienced bouts of fever like heat, skin hot to the touch, with little to no sweating,
and at other times full night sweats where I wake up drenched and need to change my T-shirt.
Temperature regulation has been dysfunctional for me (sorry to say) for years.
Kushami s onto it 👍

My Dr said my ANS is impacted by my CFS. It's not just my temperature control but my heart rate (very low & very high) that's all over the place.

I get very hot even when it's cool outside and sometimes get prickly heat just by going in the sun. I'm in the UK so mild winters and mixed summers. I'm even in shorts and t-shirt outside in the colder winter months I get that hot. But strangely when I'm cold (which is rare) I am freezing.

I've been ill for six years plus now and never thought that I sweated but according to my wife not only am I hot to touch I am extremely sweaty!!! It's a dry sweat so I'm never visibly sweating.

I think sometimes the focus is on our fatigue & pain but there are other symptoms that make our illness much broader.

I am sorry to hear you are dealing with all that!
My wife checks me and says I feel fine.
I can be out in 90+ F degrees in the Sun and I dont sweat, not even my under arms.
I think it was 7 F degrees with snow last winter and I still felt Hot with shorts and flip flops walking the snow.
Only for a short time to keep from getting frost bite or something!
So I dont know ? But it is wierd!

Autonomic Neuropathy (AN) is quite common in people with dysautonomia (and not just an issue for diabetics) and would be one of the suspects to consider here, the sudomotor dysfunction (sweat abnormalities) side of it.

Tests of Quantitative Sudomotor Axon Reflex Test (QSART) or skin punch biopsy as done for Small Fibre Neuropathy can be done but a 'Sudoscan' test is gaining worldwide acceptance and greater availability as a simpler test of sweat function.

Hi
Horse Chest Nut
Its not safe for some people because it could be a blood thinner.

Close to the 3rd day after taking it I started feeling cooler, and I know this may sound strange but I am Happy to say I had my first real sweat in 3 years outside yesterday !
It was real nice !
And I also felt chilly that night and needed a light cover for the first time in 3 years.
I had to stop it Today I had to start my 6 th new biologic and I am feeling terrible

Research Escin

Escin, a mixture of triterpene saponins found in horse chestnut, can modulate cytokine levels in inflammatory responses. It has been shown to reduce the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 in various models of inflammation, including those induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and Concanavalin A (Con A). Escin's anti-inflammatory effects are partly attributed to its ability to suppress the release of these cytokines and other inflammatory mediators
