Uvula Touching Tongue

Hi everyone, hope everyone is staying as well as they can be.

I am 7 months into ME/CFS and for the past 2 months I have noticed my uvula is touching my tongue. I am pretty sure that prior to this, my uvula has never touched my tongue in my entire life (unless it was for a very short period). At first I thought it was a random event and will eventually subside, but now I am wondering whether is has any clinical significance - maybe reinforcing ME/CFS being a structural issue.

This has happened to me sometimes when I get throat (pharynx) inflammation. The uvula seems to swell or elongate to the point where it drags on my tongue.

When the throat inflammation goes away, the uvula returns to its regular shape. I don't know what it means...

I had the same thing when I first came down with EBV (and developed ME). More recently, I experienced a lot of throat inflammation and a larger uvula and tongue. Tests showed that the EBV was active again.

This is common with me, and my grandmother also had this, not sore though. My tongue swells too
