Toxic reaction to Yoghurt and Medicine

Hi, I have a very bizarre intolerance to yoghurt and all medicines. What happens as soon as I eat or swallow the yoghurt or meds the nerves in my stomach become inflamed and produce toxins. (When I say nerves I mean the Vegas nerve where the virus is hiding).I think!!
The toxins then release into my immune system and initially make me feel better. ie immune system is working properly because it reads it as an invader. But then the toxins do damage.
Is any one else affected in this way?
Or can any one suggest a reason why this is happening?
Love an hugs to all.:hug::hug::hug::fish::fish::fish:
Was advised to re-post this as put in wrong dept....

I have similar reactions to supplements, probiotics etc. I initially feel better for a few days, often much better, with much higher energy levels.

From my experience and the research I've done. I think the toxins that I experience are from bacteria in my gut. Some of the bacteria in the gut have something called lipopolysaccharides (LPS) in their outer cell wall.

When these bacteria are killed off with supplements or probiotics, the LPS get into the bloodstream and cause an immune system reaction.

There have been several studies in ME/CFS that show high levels of dysbiosis (an overgrowth of unhealthy bacteria in the gut) and increased intestinal permeability, also called "leaky gut".

Hi ljimbo, I certainly think your on the right track. I know my gut is lacking good flora and I have Candida too. But my inability to tolerate medication makes it difficult to rebalance my gut microbiome.:hug:

I can really relate. I've been struggling for years, trying to find supplements I could take to help my gut without intolerable side effects. I'm finally learning ways to do it but it's still a struggle and very slow going.

Can you tolerate supplements like coq10 or branch chain amino acids? They have both helped my energy levels and greatly reduced the flu-like flares I use to get.

No, tried all of those but they produce a toxic reaction.
When I saw a Dr who specialised in M E he said there were only 3% of patients this happens to.
I am going to try Colloidal silver even though I know it kills the good bugs. Truth is I don't think I have many good bugs left!!!.

Good luck with the colloidal silver.:) I have learned that if I take very, very tiny doses of things that kill off gut bugs, I do alright. Higher doses make my symptoms much worse.

My aches and pains, headache, flu-like symptoms, fatigue and brain fog, all get much worse.

So you might want to start with just one drop for a few days and see how you feel. Then go from there, that's what I do with herbs.

@ljimbo423 definitely knows what he's talking about, I've much appreciated his input and posts about gut stuff!

The difficult thing with gut stuff is that we need to push through the detox period to get to increased microbiome health and overall benefit. And a lot of PwME can't get through that period because the consequences of all those ill effects are too much.

Perhaps have a look at information on the forums here about how to beat support your body through the detox phases? What many describe as being a toxic reaction isn't necessarily a bad thing overall like it can be/is with medicines... it's a stop along the way for the body in its readjustment, rather than an end point. I wish I could think of some terms you could search for! There are 2 or 3 phases and need to be supported in the right order with the right supplements.

When treating my gut the first time, I pushed through about 2 weeks of awful increased symptoms at first. It was hard and I felt scared I was going to go to a lower baseline again, become bedbound again... but it's paid off in the longer term. (And it can be terrifying, I tooootally understand that aspect.)

Other people take longer (as @ljimbo423 has mentioned I think) to start treating their guts, but I really feel it's worth trying something for at least a month, and preferably 3 months, to help the body adjust to all the bad bugs dying (and making way for the healthy bugs!).

Sorry to write so much. I become much less succinct when my brainfog is bad like this!

Thank you for the kind words and I hope my posts have helped some.:)

That's what held me back from consistently treating my gut for many years. Like you say, it has many others with ME/CFS too, because the symptoms can be so overwhelming from treating the gut.

Treating mitochondrial dysfunction helped increase my energy and lessened the fatigue and flu-like effects enough, so that the symptoms from treating my gut were much milder.

That has allowed me to take higher doses of herbs to kill off the bad bacteria.

Your post has a lot of valuable information, insight and guidance in it from my perspective.:)

Thanks for your replies. My g-mail normally alerts me if you've posted but on this occasion it didn't.
My problem is that the nerve damage has caused considerable weakness to my arms and legs. For some reason it's this damage that has created my intolerance to meds. It must be the sensory nerves too. Because as soon as I put a spoonful of yoghurt on my tongue the nerves in my arms/legs and gut flare up. Which is why I'm convinced the virus has attached its self to the Vegas nerve as well as my gut.
I took some organic coconut oil today and this evening my gut is like a cauldron. (Bubbling away) I only took a teaspoon full as I'm still waiting for my Colloidal silver.
I have bottles of Symprove in my fridge. It's got all live pre and probiotics plus bacteria that can survive through to gut to the large intestine. But can I tolerate it ....NO..
I can tolerate things that I shouldn't eat. Life is so unfair.....
Thanks for your support and Info

My cat Lucy is sat on my lap purring. Reminding me its supper time and I should stop typing on my smartphone.
