Topiramate (Topomax)/Phenytoin (Dilantin)

Has anyone had any experience with either of these 2 epilepsy drugs? There are some persistent anecdotal reports that these are helpful for MECFS symptoms.

This old survey showed that patients perceived that topiramate was one of the most effective drugs that people had taken.

Strangely one of the side effects of topiramate is brain fog…..On the other hand, one person on phenytoin said it cleared up their brain fog. Also topiramate is prescribed for weight loss and apparently is pretty effective for this for some people.

Interesting. The first one targets GABA (A) so it's easily understood why some might benefit. But the second one???
