Hi, coxy.

I've noted your reports of several in your family having ME/CFS.

The following possibilities may already have occurred to you, but I want to mention them just in case they haven't:

1. Mold illness

2. Carbon monoxide poisoning

These are two possible causes of multiple cases in the same household.

Mold illness occurs when there are molds in the home that produce toxins, due to water damage, and the people have inherited HLA genotypes that make them vulnerable. Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker has studied this intensively. His new book is called Surviving Mold

http://www.survivingmold.com

He has found that about 25% of the population is vulnerable to mold illness if exposed to mold toxins.

Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs when there is a leak in home heating systems that involve combustion of hydrocarbons. I have heard stories of several people in a family being affected by this. Those family members who spend more time in the home can be the most affected. There are carbon monoxide detectors available. A person who is very knowledgeable about this is Albert Donnay.
