But for anyone yet to donate, remember, $5 is 4 euros is £3 - if you can spare it, please donate it today as a sign of appreciation to Dr Lipkin and his team. We want to show them the breadth of support for their work across our community. We're hugely lucky that someone of Dr Lipkin's calibre is so heavily involved in trying to get to the bottom of this disease.

Just donated my $5.00. This was also a good reminder for me to make a larger donation as I haven't made one for a few months. This was the message I left:
My M.E started after I developed IBS. I'm sure that studying the microbiome will yield valuable results. Grateful thanks to Drs Lipkin and Hornig and the rest of the microbiome team.

Thanks very, very, much to everyone who donated - we know we've been getting some good numbers but we won't know the total number of donors for a few days because it takes payments several days to clear through the banks.

The Five Dollar Challenge ended yesterday, and we think it was a great success, thanks to your generous support!

But donations take four days to clear through the system, to be recorded by Columbia, so we're not going to count our total until the end of the week. Then we'll be sure to update you with how many donations you all made for the Five Dollar Challenge.

Don't forget that the crowdfunding project continues for a while longer, till the end of the year, and you can make a donation at any time.

Great news everyone! Thanks to your generous support, we've reached the goal of 100 extra donations for our Five Dollar Challenge! Thanks so much to everyone! We will make sure that Dr Lipkin is aware of this support.

But there's still more to come, because donations take a few days to clear the system...
On Friday we'll have our final total for the donations made during the course of the Five Dollar Challenge.
