Suppressing B Cells vs Depleting them

This could be a completely silly question so apologies in advance, but given that a number of responding ME patients treated with Rituximab report improvements followed by relapse when their B cells come back, are there any drugs out there that could:

  • Suppress circulating B cells to a point where clinical improvement is seen.
  • Disrupt B cell signalling somehow.
  • Do something else to B cells that might benefit us.
All replies greatly appreciated!

I am sure my answer will be overshadowed by someone with far superior knowledge, however one method that might be useful is to attempt to boost regulatory B-cells somehow. These are part of the body's natural immune suppression mechanism.
