It's just preliminary research, but it shows that strobe lights at night can help teenagers sleep longer (insert appropriate joke here :sleep:). The lights aren't bright/long enough to wake the sleeper, but they seem to alter the circadian rhythm. It doesn't sound like a cure for all types of insomnia, but it might be useful for some people.

They did state: "More research is certainly needed to better understand this mechanism of action, and to further optimize the technique for future therapeutic outcomes, so don't go setting up a night time strobe light in your teenager's room just yet."
