An Article by COSMOS: “Stem cells used to identify doping drug as potential chronic fatigue treatment”
https://cosmosmagazine.com/health/m...-drug-as-potential-chronic-fatigue-treatment/ brings me back to a post from Sept 2021 https://forums.phoenixrising.me/threads/ciprofloxacin-again-a-never-ending-story.85624/post-2368003

Has there been any research exploring a potential connection between ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and Very Long-Chain Fatty Acids (VLCFAs)?

So far, it seems this possibility has not been thoroughly investigated.

Would be nice if this weren't the framing, though.

A researcher finding existing drugs to repurpose for treating psychiatric disorders and chronic fatigue syndrome is amongst the winners of the 2024 Australian Mental Health Prize.

That said, a drug that is supposed to improve mitochondrial performance (trimetazidine) seems like something that should've been trialed years ago.
