If you took a good probiotic you could start on the mycoplasma as well as work on the HHV6 at the sametime. I think this is important as with cfs you are always coinfected. I take folinic acid and shark liver oil to reduce the leucoprenia side effects of Valcyte. I also take lots of B vites.

But just Valcyte alone did alot for me. For me I started my dosage high and had to stay high.

I actually started the antibiotic today for the mycoplasma. Well see how that goes. Fingers crossed. I am starting low and building up with the valcyte bc i am so damn sensitive. so far so good but just alot of anxiety/agitation from it. Is there anything to do for that? I cant take benzos so I need other alternatives.

Just a quick update. I am doing well and will be increasing my valcyte dose tomorrow. My bloodwork came back totally in the normal ranges so far so that is a good start. I feel the side effects so far are anxiety/agitation, and insomnia (worsened). So I am hanging in there with hopes these get better.
Also tolerating the doxycycline perfectley knock on wood, mixed into some applesauce.

May I ask what your docs rationale was to prescribe antibiotics for mycoplasma ? I thought that mycoplasma could not be treated with antibiotics ? They have no cell wall or something for the antibiotics to attack.

the standard of treatment for mycoplasma is antibiotics lol. that is the proven and effective treatment. seew dr garth nicholsons work. his treatment protocol works and is what my doctor uses. i read somewhere that the mycoplasma does have some strange characteristics but that antibiotics work (specific ones) used a certain way. In addition the antivirals can help to because of the strange structure of this organism,.

hi thanks nielk! yes i am doing well. so far so good! i am up to the recommended dose and my bloodwork looks beautiful. it seems i am handling the drug well. so far only side effects are the anxiety/agitation and some mild nausea. i am pleased so far with valcyte. sometimes i think the fear surrounding this drug is much to do about nothing. if it can help and is tolerable to me i am all for this treatment! thanks for checking in!
