Small update on Carnivore

Within a month or so I fully adapted to eating fatty meats only - mainly beef and a little beet of pork. Zinc supplementation helped me to get rid of the cravings during the transition period - after 3 or 4 days of 60-100mg of zinc per day I started to feel satiated by meat only and then stopped supplementing zinc.

Positives. All anxiety/depression symptoms are gone, almost 100%. No cravings, hunger feeling is very gentle, stable energy throughout the day. The only negative - the energy level is pretty low, cannot do any exercise at all.

As soon as I added some magnesium supplementation, I felt energized for about 3-4 days but then the effect disappeared and instead I realized that cravings are slowly coming back, so I completely stopped magnesium again.

I am getting back to the purely meat carnivore now (got some cheese within the recent days because of cravings) and give it some extra time hoping that the energy will eventually come.

You didn't have low energy before the carnivore diet?
I did. But it was a bit different. On carnivore, for about 2 or 3 stable weeks my energy level was low, stable, but low. Before carnivore there were some rare moments - sometimes once in a week, or month - where I had energy, but everything else - sleep, digestion, anxiety etc. - was still very bad. Now, my sleep is acceptable and getting better, my digestion is better than ever, zero anxiety and none negative thought affects me in anyway - it just does not linger and I can continue thinking about productive stuff.

Probably, it just needs more time to fully kick in with the energy side of the diet, but so far I'm 100% I will continue my experiment.

I started doing Keto mid February, hit a plateau about a month in, perhaps to many carbs. So was cutting out vegetables more (mid April), Particularly on days when I'm not getting to the gym or other exercise. Down about 10lbs overall, weight has been coming off again (about 1pound a week last 2 weeks), want to stick to it for another month, before being more flexible with summer travels.

Tried this last spring, lost about 5lbs and didn't drop any weight afterwards, so stopped being super low carb. I realized this year, that not just eating fat was acceptable, I am eating more coconut oil this year, a little spoonful with my proteins. 70% of your calories are supposed to come from fats with Keto.

Great results!

I would love to get back to carbs too, variety of foods is such a joyful part of life, but as soon as I adapted to meats and fat, I realized how bad ANY carbs affect my condition - digestion, anxiety, overall feeling.

As soon as I introduce anything with carbs - an orange, a rice crisp, milk, any berries - first comes discomfort on the right side, then some unpleasant feeling through the whole body, then I realize I focus on bad thoughts too much etc.
