Doubt that you're still hanging around scratching after all this time, but just in case .....your symptoms (tho not necessarily all of the other responders) sound like classic shingles to me .... a reduced immune system can allow the herpes virus to re-activate..... herpes virus installs itself, rent-free, following chicken pox or other viral illnesses, and can reactivate under the proper conditions: reduced immune response along with stress or illness is a bingo !!
