When I heard about it early this am I tweeted the Committee leaders the following :
.@SenThadCochran @SenatorBarb Pls ask @NIHDirector during his testimony today about #MECFS Up to 2.5m US sick & 24B ann. econ impact 1/2
.@SenThadCochran @SenatorBarb Urgently need more research funding. More sick w/ #MECFS than #AIDS #MS Have you seen http://wapo.st/1FRwipf
I then quoted the first tweet and sent it on to the other committee members.
Then I individually sent them the second tweet -- I wanted the impact of the photo from the Wash.Post picture to be seen. Although I had already tweeted out this article to most these Senators, along with House and Senate leaders and other health and appropriations subcommittee members the other day.
The meeting is online now link above in quote.
All members can be found at appropriation committee site : http://www.appropriations.senate.gov/about-committee/committee-members
I also tweeted to Collins ( who tweeted about his upcoming testimony ) and asked him to ask for funding during his testimony.( No, I don't think he will, but hey ya gotta try and keep the pressure on ! )
Although it is too late to get them before the meeting. It will be fresh in minds and good time to write to members whichever way you feel comfortable. Tweet, email, call. If you click on their names it will take you to a page where they have their contact information.
You are also welcome and encouraged to Retweet and or copy my tweets to tweet to the leaders and committee and Collins ! You can find in my tweeter feed under @beaker1986
Time for action. If we don't help ourselves, who will ?
I had insomnia so did this. I hope I can follow up to these folks in the near future. Now must crash.
Good luck
